For some reason, when I listen to this song, I see images of someone being put on trial. The death vocal intro is the jury examining him, looking at him in disgust. The first verse is the defendant giving their testimony. The part where the organ comes in is their soliloquy while the jurors deliberate on whether or not the person is found guilty. In this moment, I always imagine the lights of the set being turned off, while the spotlight shines on the defendant. The outro is the defendant being found guilty, and receiving punishment.

I feel this album ends MDBs defining phase, with a climax. 8th album, isn’t it. Who knew they’d more than double their output up until now turning into a living instition. I lost track after their 12th album, I think. I’d wanna catch up, but it’d take effort. Being fan of a band this prolific requires fanhood to become a lifestyle.
