The issue is that someone considered the possibility and decided to take the ending of Super Mario Odyssey (where both Mario and Bowser get dumped by Peach), and Bowser reveals the Crown and becomes Bowsette. The comic that did this literally blew up and thousands of memes and other media around the meme kicked into high gear. It got to the point that other super crown versions of characters became big as well, most notably Booette (not sure if it was the same guy or someone else created Booette).
