Another thing to note is her skin color. She started more tan, possible as a reference of sarasa being a pattern from india, but slowly became more pale. In recent years though it seems her skin color has slowly returned to being tan which I think helps separate her from Peach

That's basically why she's being included in Wonder (the director or someone high up thought it'd stop his daughters fighting over who gets to play Peach) and on the one hand I'm glad it's happening, but on the other I find it a bit frustrating in an amused way that it wasn't thousands of fans vocally wanting Daisy to be more prominent over the years, but a single developer's personal home experience that gave him the idea

An empire consisting of 4 drastically different kingdoms. Cool new and never before seen enemies. New gameplay mechanics and of course Daisy. They have to revisit it one day.

I started playing as Daisy because it annoyed my friends in Double Dash, and just... ended up sticking with her in other Mario games. As for preference, I'd say the Mario Tennis 64 design is my favourite. I like the more tan / long hair variant. I think it suits her very well.

I am extremely obsessed with Princess Daisy cause I am also a girl who grew up as a tomboy as a kid, and became a more feminine woman as an adult. I liked Daisy because she was both feminine AND tomboyish! It's a great mix, and she's so sassy and silly. Love her sooooo much

Daisy is honestly my favourite of the Mario princesses especially because of her personality compared to Peach's. Maybe it's also because of fan works, but Daisy being depicted as the loud woman who'd definitely yell at a fast food employee on Luigi's behalf because they forgot his happy meal toy or something compared to Mario and Peach's couple dynamic makes her far more interesting to me. I also do like that Nintendo is slowly bringing back her tan look since it only makes the perfect sense since she's from a desert kingdom

Two things to note--Daisy got her own song on the mario album released around mario land called "saved me with your charm." Second you guys didn't bring up the manga. In japan daisy is really popular and one reason is kids grew up there with daisy in the mario manga! Daisy was peach's best friend and was at her side for years in the manga even in the early 90s. She was in manga based on games she wasn't even in like dr mario! She also had more outfits in the manga like a nurse outfit in dr mario. Daisy did also show up in american comics in the 90s also in the gameboy comic but was not a tomboy yet in those comics!

I absolutely love Daisy, for a long time now she's been my favourite mario character, she's an awesome tomboy and it shows in many ways, but I love that she also has outfits that are elegant and pretty, she is a princess after all, and tomboys don't always have to dress boyishly. I'm 100% gonna play through wonder as her as soon as the game is out, and I really hope we see more of her as time goes on.

I think a huge part of the reason why we want more Mario RPG games is because that genre is where characters can best display their personalities and quirks, especially when compared to sports and platformers where let's be honest can be fun but doesn't provide as much room for dialogue and character development. Daisy's kingdom definitely warrants a second visit, for Super Mario Land had a lot of interesting locales that would look amazing with 21st century technology. A future Super Mario RPG taking place in Daisy's kingdom could be so much fun. Back to Daisy though, Mario Strikers Charged Daisy is by farrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr the best iteration of Daisy, and the watering-down of her persona in the decade following Strikers Charged remains in line with the ongoing theory that after the slight controversies surrounding Super Paper Mario and Mario Strikers Charged, upper management at Nintendo wanted to put a stop to drastic deviations to Mario characters.

OMG thank you so much for this video. I play Mario Kart Tour (and have for a couple years now) and all her variations are my favorites! I just got her Mii suit and I love it almost as much as Peach's, but more than Rosalina's!! I hope she turns up in the next Mario movie or, my own personal hope, a LUIGI movie exploring Luigi's Mansion. Lots of possibilities with Luigi's timid, skittish nature with her "full speed ahead," petals-to-the-wall zest for adventure, I think they'd be the perfect pair, and it'd be a great opportunity for KING BOO to debut as a big screen villain in the Marioverse.

My first introduction to Daisy was with her inclusion in Mario Kart DS. I had no idea who she was at the time. (Mario Kart DS was also my first Mario Kart game.) She was one of my most wanted characters, and most wanted Mario character, to get into Smash. (Even more than a certain purple plumber.)

Things like personality through voice clips are where her character most contrasts with Peach. Peach is more subdued and elegant, while Daisy is excitable and loud. Now that I think about it, the princesses are kind of inverse to the brothers. Mario is energetic and loud with Peach, and Luigi is more subdued and quiet with Daisy. As Luigi and Mario have been more defined, it would be cook to see that with Daisy from Peach. It is why I think she needs to be in a movie sequel. With Peach how she was it is going to require Daisy to be herself up to 11, like she always should have been reintroduced as.

It's awesome that Daisy is gonna be in Super Mario Bros Wonder, as a playable character. As much as I love Peach, I do fancy Daisy as well as I like her tomboyish attitude and she's so snazzy in all the outfits she wears. I say her design since the Mario Party games has been absolutely incredible, but my favourite outfit would be her dress, followed by her shorts and swimwear. I'm so happy that Daisy is finally being embraced as a more mainstream character rather than just a Peach double to fill a female character slot. I'm aware of the history of a falling out between Miyamoto and Gunpei Yokoi, Daisy's original creator, and the refusal to widely incorporate Daisy or any of the original features that he and his dev team created in their games but it's good to see that the newer staff making Super Mario Wonder is not following in grudges of the past. Here's hoping that the trend continues and she's a second playable character in Princess Peach Showtime! Even if the main story can't sensibly incorporate her character alongside Peach she could still be a new game plus feature that swaps Peach's character model for Daisy like Luigi did for Mario in Super Mario Galaxy. However, while this may be an unpopular opinion for much of the fanbase, if Daisy is going to become more prevalent in Mario games in the future the one thing I want Nintendo to do for her character is to distance her supposed relationship with Luigi. The LuigixDaisy ship is entirely headcanon and doesn't actually build or expand upon either her or Luigi's character in any meaningful way other than to satisfy primal instincts to match people up in ways that simply look satisfying to onlookers. Mario and Peach have a long enough history together to understand their relationship, even if Odyssey complicates things, but people have to desperately grasp at straws for random one-liners or images of the two of them arbitrarily standing close to each other to string together "proof" that these two must be an item. No game that the two of them star in together has ever been narratively held together by the idea that Luigi and Daisy are romantically interested in each other. Anything from any game that supposedly verifies that is just a throwaway line that could be easily changed or removed completely and the source game would remain exactly the same in both function and presentation, highlighting it's insignificance to the dismay of forced matchmakers. Thankfully, Nintendo seems to be aware of this due to the fact that Daisy hasn't appeared in the Luigi's Mansion series, and ever their placement in the opening cutscene of Wonder shows the two of them on complete opposite ends of the screen to hopefully signify that the two of them are not intrinsically connected to each another and that anything that suggests otherwise is purely coincidental.

I didn't notice it back then, but my god do some of the GC/DS era 3d renders look terrible. Daisy has dead eyes and all characters have a pale skin like a zombie. As simplistic as the N64 era 3d renders were, they had punchy colors and Daisy had a nice tan. The Mario Wonder render brings that back and it looks fantastic!
