I'm so glad you liked it! There used to be a bigger store in Harajuku (and maybe also one more elsewhere in Tokyo?), but I read in an article that since Tavuchi became a mother she had to narrow down her shops so that she could balance work life and being a mum. It shows how much she likes a hands-on approach when it comes to her store and products! This one in Nakano is a great location though, because you don't get the crazy crowds of Harajuku, and it's right next to a massive retro 80's/90's girl toy shop for ADDED AESTHETIC!~ :D

Was one of their shops in Harajuku? I know at some point there were 3 (Spank!, Spank Me!, and Ticket to Darling) but when I visited their main original store it was in Koenji, and the other two had long closed down. Hmm, time for some internet sleuthing...

Back in 2011 she talked about why Ticket to Darling closed (too much work to run 3 shops), but I still can't find the article or post she talked on about why she closed down the Harajuku one. Perhaps people thought it was in Harajuku because Harajuku is kinda part of the "Shibuya" area? I guess because of the colours and style, it always looked like it fitted right in LOL!

I love Spank! We were staying in Nakano last time I visited Tokyo and we hit up Nakano Broadway every night. I have fond memories of Spank! and all of the Mandarake stores.

Awesome! Maybe a frill-edged cushion? The print is quite large so it may not look too good as a skirt etc. Although a cutout of the characters on a t-shirt or on the back of a jacket could look cool.

Omg freaking god I know right LMAO. The thing is America judges to much they only think unicorns, ponies and teddy bears and stars on shirts are only for little kids but it can be for everyone. In America if you walk down the street looking like she does people be staring at you thinking you have a mental problem but if you walk like this in Japan they think you look cute.
