I really hate Marissa Elene Nadieja because she is a compositional and creative genius. I hate her outstanding voice, i hate her compositions that are super beautiful and creative. We need to isolate geniuses and abuse them. Join me to attack Marissa elene Nadieja. She is someone that HATE with a passion. Let's isolate genius!

can i just get a tonne of people to agree with me that this performance, especially the last minute and a half of it when she shredded the harp like a pro, was the most glorious piece of work to grace the .com's

I hate really talent and genius. I really hate Marissa Elene Nadieja. She is a genius composer who plays numbers of instruments well and sings extremely well. She is a compositional genius. I want everyone to harass her and gang up on her and vote her videos down and support mediocrity. We need to make sure Geniuses are ignored, abused and isolated!

What’s most frustrating is she didn’t write these lyrics! Van Dyke Parkes did. Give the man credit.

@@eccremocarpusscaber5159 Are you serious? Jesus, yes, I wish I knew how Van Dyke could so purely look into Joannas brain and past and write about her deeply personal realtionships with her sister, or how he could re-visit the death of Cosmia, or know about her greving period and that time in the treehouse with Bill Callahan with a so-though dead bird or her un-born child. These lyrics and storys are no ones but Joannas, plus we can very clearly see her talent and work in the Milk-eyed Mender. Van Dyke helped inhance the things she offerd and he helped arrange the harph and possibly the piano.

An ex-girlfriend of mine showed this to me, and for a while after we broke up, I couldn't listen to it. It hurt too much. But now, tonight, I'm listening to it, and all I'm feeling is complete elation at Joanna's voice, the lyrics, the instruments...the whole thing. Extraordinary stuff.

I get a kind of joy from this video that I can only hope to experience in the future. This song is so powerful, and with this arrangement it is truly remarkable. I would give all three of my wishes, if I found a Genie's lamp, to travel back in time and attend this concert.

I actually love when people's voices break, like when it happens to professional singers. It also reminds me of birds, and birds sing quite often, they say. This is my favorite Joanna song

She plays numbers of instruments on a high level and her voice is outstanding. Her writing is genius. She arranges music for over twenty instruments. She needs to be destroyed, ignored. I hope you vote all her videos down and abuse her. We need to isolate and abuse artists that are geniuses. Marissa Elene Nadieja is someone we need to HATE and abuse~ I am so jealous!

@IBBangin19 That's quite a coincidence. An ex-girlfriend is the one who introduced me to both Joanna and Regina Spektor. The break-up sucked and I didn't listen to either one for a while. Long story short, those old wounds have long been closed, but I still don't care to listen to Regina. But Joanna is forever.

Haha, I know this comment is old, but since I know the answer I thought I'd share. In an interview she says it's her throat reacting with the surroundings. Like if it's hot and humid or if people in the audience are smoking, etc... I know by now the answer doesn't really matter but hey, what can you do? ;D

@aeorta5 It's kind of an insult if your a singer. What Joanna's doing and a child could do with their voice are totally different and comparing them is a slap in the face in a certain context. Joanna has a mature voice and total control unlike child, however, that's not to say that Joanna does not pick children's THEMES.

Yeah, I'd have to agree with those that say this is better than the studio version. It's far more eloquent this way. I'd choreograph it with gypsies and willowy inbred debutantes. The gypsies would kick in at the 6 minute mark, of course.
