a guy down the road used to own a peacock. great guard dog for the chickens and quails. past away of old age a year or two ago. prettiest and most terrifying thing seeing him in the road

This reminds me of the peacock that lived in my family's backyard and front of the house. He had just shown up out of nowhere. We named him Bob and he would eat out of your hand. He liked cheez-its a lot.

This happened to our family too. One day a peacock just turned up at my great aunts house. (we've lived in most of the houses around this area) She named him Peter. He then got spooked by a fox and moved about a mile to my great uncles house, just up the road from mine. He stayed there for over a decade before my great uncle died, then he started hanging around our place. We started to feed him. He'd come up to the bare bricks where we were building our garage, and wait for us to put seeds out for him. A few times he'd even eat from our hands. The cows on our farm were fascinated by him, mainly because he would stand around just outside of their reach, through a fence and display at them. Then when they got released, he'd scarper as they charged up to him. He even played with the dogs. He also quite enjoyed standing in the road and displaying at passing cars. He seemed to have no fear of them, they always stopped for him. Peter died a few years ago. Old age probably, we never knew how old he was. I still have a bunch of his feathers beside the drawers in this very room.

There was this male peacock who used to live at my street for a very long time. He would roam the area and go onto trees until he passed away last year. It was a very tragic day. Rest In Peace peacock 🙏🏻

I have two birds who I'm sure are mates because they always hang out around my yard. I'm pretty sure they nest there because any time my cat gets near where it might be they swoop on her. It's adorable😁

rcoffey7 you might be right but i can’t think of anywhere else the peacock would live. maybe it just likes the heater? i live in georgia where the weather is usually hot, but when it gets a little cooler in our house my dog likes curling up by the heater (even though it’s not really cold). so maybe that’s why they have a heat lamp? idk

I literally cried watching this video. We always had a lot of peacocks around the place where we live and one of the oldest decided to just move in with us. He was in our big wild garden almost every day and in the end he was there 24/7. He had a name, a food bowl and in the winter he slept in front of our door. He lived with us for almost three years until he died because of his very old age. Having him here was very very special to me

We had a turkey from a wild flock that strayed off and decided to hang out in our yard for a long while, sleeping in trees behind our house. She was incredibly friendly, she would follow anyone in the yard around and would even eat out of your hand if you were patient enough. We had to evacuate for fires and she even showed up a couple of times after that, almost like she was letting us know she was okay. She's gone now, but we hope she'll be back.

Not native to the US they were introduced here in 1879. Beautiful and hardy fowl, they can live most anywhere. We had a Peacock that wondered the zoo here in Greenville, SC where I live and it lived for almost 25 years.

I was stationed on a base in Chesapeake, VA thats in the middle of no where. At the time there was probably only a couple hundred people on this base, yet somehow there was a family of Peacock's living there too, freely living around base housing. No one knew where they came from. One day they just showed up and didn't leave.
