Genma is probably my favourite character in the manga. He's the OG horrible anime dad. But most of the stuff he does wrong simply comes from being a giant idiot...or being lazy, hungry, being a coward or because he simply wants more time to play Go with his best friend. He's so funny, especially in panda form.

I grew up watching the original on repeat. I enjoy this remake so far. One thing I do miss about the original is the cheesy and melodramatic scores that are perfectly timed with moments in the show (like when kuno confesses to female ranma). So far, I haven't gotten that itch scratched but overall super faithful reboot.

Ranma been pretty great so far. I been enjoying the English Dub too so I wouldn't be tripping on comments telling you to switch up. The Japanese Dub is just as good and if you rocking with the English, there ain't no problem here as a viewer. It's gonna be pretty fun to see the antics that go on beyond this.

It’s a little different than the original and I’m not mad at it, it’s even more hilarious. I can not wait until they get to ryoga, if you don’t know who that is, I can’t wait until y’all do. 😂

I think we'll get to the diversions a little bit later on as the early stuff was already close to the manga until the original anime started doing original anime only episodes to give the manga space to get ahead.

if you want to get more into romance anime i suggest one of the best shoujo of all time - Fruits Basket it has drama, romance, comedy and my god if you don't tear up at least once then you simply do not have a heart.

The English dub is perfectly fine. But they pretty much gathered the original cast, so the nostalgia feels are very strong in Japanese.

The English dub is pretty good. I think Nabiki's a bit too nasally but that's my only note.

The way i put it, In the remake english version, Kasumi LOOKS younger than she is, and Nabiki SOUNDS younger than she is. But this isn't a bad thing, they both serve purposes. Kasumi's more youthful looks help remind you that she is not Akane's mother, she just fills the housekeeping role in the family. Nabiki's voice however seems to be there to imply her greedy personality. Japan may have different voice associations with greed so for all we know the same thing is happening there.

The English dub for this show has actually been the more popular choice for most people throughout its existence. Although i prefer the sub. The dub in the original changed ranmas male voice like halfway through as well for some reason.
