Soo...even if I don’t need all that futuristic stuff, I’m buying only PD products, since broken Bellroy bag is a broken bag. But broken PD bag after 6 years is just a sign of a free upgrade 😂

I really like the structure of your videos with each segment with a clkear label of whats going on in the top right corner with it filling up as time for that segment fills. Great use of it and keeps the video clean and organised when scrolling through for details! I'm no backback guy, but you are CRIMINALLY under subbed at only 3.49K Subs!! Key leash on side pocket is one of my favorite parts of the backpack. I do not have to take my pack off to get to my keys when I need them. Also, I dont often need both pockets for water bottles, so not a big deal. If I do have a water bottle and a coffee thermos, then the keys still fit under the thermos. Love not having to open up my bag or take it off every time I need to get to my keys.

Great insight Brittany! I also love a backpack that doesn't force me to take the bag off to access my keys (my favorite solution being the Boundary Supply Errant), I just didn't think this particular solution felt very secure. But super glad you like it!

I'm a little late to the party but I got the 30L v2 version of this backpack and I really like it and I even got myself the Hip Belt, too and it's really amazing how good everything works together. I have a few points to ask / mention though: 1. What exactly was annoying you about the flex dividers? I set up mine and probably won't change them for a long time. In the other Peak Design products I own I always loved the flex dividers. They can be a bit of a hassle to adjust but once you're set, you don't have to worry about it. I'm just curious what you didn't like about them. 2. The fact that the back zipper on the laptop compartment doesn't fully go around is awesome. The weight of the backpack won't hang on the zipper and potentially break it. But I agree that it can get a little tight in there. 3. I didn't notice and squeaking on the swivels... yet. Hopefully that won't happen to me because that would drive me crazy. 4. The key leash is a bit weird. It's good you can remove it. I always have my keys in my pockets. 5. Tip for improving: around 24:00 you were talking about how one side of the sternum strap is easier to remove than the other but you weren't showing it. 6. I really like your style. Very outgoing, enthusiastic and to the point. Especially the recommended alternatives to what's being reviewed in the video. Keep that going :D Oh and the "timer" for each chapter.. love it!

3. This will happen. No worries, just use a tiny bit of WD-40. Solves the issue for 6-12 months. 5. This is intended. They show it on the hook, has little arrow. One hook is more permanent. The other is less. And I kinda like it.

I think you hit the mark about the flex panels not being that useful if you aren't storing photo gear. I got the bag cause I thought it would be so handy to compartmentalize, but it gets in the way more than it is helpful. I still keep one at the bottom for a small shelf because I was missing a front panel to store my first aid kit, but would prefer 80% of the space to be open.

as a photographer who only carries a small camera and one or two lenses, i want a lot of space for other things in a pack, and this is perfect for me, the dividers make it so easy for me, especially if i DO want to actually carry a bunch of camera stuff

Dual side pockets are nice for one side with a water bottle and the other side for an umbrella or tripod. Always welcome dual pockets. The key leash in the bottle is eh I agree.

I go back and forth whether or not I like dual side-pockets - personally I think it depends on the pack. We just reviewed the Boundary Supply Errant which only has one water bottle pocket and I loved it - the review is coming out next week, let me know what you think when it goes live!

You missed the point about the shoulder straps, its so if you take one off and then do a little 'thing' the backpack will swivel around so you get a great access to the side access... I know sounds a little bit weird but it works great! Anyway, keep up the good work! I enjoyed this clip and do a review of the Tech Pouch, it's f***ing awesome!

I am so loving this pack but hear everyone saying it’s a EDC for Photographers. I am a tech sales guy who travels a lot and am wanting a backpack instead of briefcase. I have the 30L and love it, setting up the dividers for two camera bodies with a lens attached each, plus room for 3 additional smaller lenses. I started the stack from the bottom, making it as tight as possible, and I still have room for purse stuff and roll of clothing in about the top 1/3 - 1/4 with top access. Laptop and iPad go in the back, and some power cords. Just checked out your review to see if I was missing any tips. Love the review! And personally, I like the keys tucked into an outside pocket :)

That pocket on the bottom front is used for their straps that latch to all the hooks on the bag to carry external items

I am very excited to receive mine! I got it in ash too. I travel 45 min per day and need more organization. I love the cubbies and have great experience with their everyday tote. Love them and the quality. I found that Tom bihn is my fav but too ugly, Bellroy is way too minimalist, and Peak Design is my Goldilocks. They give a ton of organization, aesthetics that kill, and they offer military discounts which I always appreciate! In fact, that was a tie breaker for many bags for me. This was an awesome informative video, many thanks!

@@Nomads.Nation woo! Same as what I thought, though I'm not a photographer, I like the quick access at the side and at the top which is very convenient comparing with traditional backpacks. And I like the design of it. Curious to ask, I've got a huge backpack for that occasion and if it comes to a a small edc backpack, I'm struggling between the messenger and the everyday backpack. Both are small which are good and both have quick access which is one of the problems of a traditional backpack.

@@Nomads.Nation btw, the handle on the top is different when it comes to different colors, I found that peak design leather handles like this one shown is not comfortable but like the black hypalon handles in the messenger bag video is very comfortable, so the black of the backpack is also the same materials which I suppose more comfortable than leather.

What bag would you recommend for me. Im looking for a bag to travel with a suitcase (as an extra bag) that can also work for an overnight bag somewhere too. Must haves 1. water bottle holder on exterior. 2 mostly comfortable for a couple hours carry. 3 20-30 liter range. 4. At least semi accessible quick stash (the peak design looks like it would work but that would be least accessible I’d want. 5. Luggage pass through. I’d like it to look decent but it’s not a high priority. Another plus would be some kind of hoodie/light jacket that’s easy to get to bungies or something similar but not a must have. More comfortable the better. Thank you!

I gotta ask, if I had to have a bag thats good for a weeks travel, but also doesnt look too big as a daypack, and just overall feels great which should I get, this one or the aer travel pack 2 SMALL? Im honestly torn between Aer travel pack 2 small Peak everday backpack Peak travel backpack I do have camera gear but i dont need its just a single body and lens, i dont need a hyper specialized compartment and i dont need to take it out of my bag out of a whim so im just basing this on an overall good bag thats great to use, any thoughts? So far after watching most of your videos ive boiled it down to City sling for everyday (nintendo switch, powerbank, cables, wireless earbuds) Peak Design Sling for everyday but with laptop and camera. Im pretty sure about getting these two. The ones im unsure of is the next step up which is the backpack/travel space

Hmm I've thought about this one for a while.. I wouldn't get the Peak Design everyday backpack, because it probably won't fit a weeks worth of stuff. Aer Tavel Pack 2 might be a bit bulky for every day carry. I'd say Peak design travel backpack because it compresses down a little bit and is a little bit longer than the Aer so it looks less bulky. I totally agree with you on the camera pack, if you have one lens and one body, you probably wont need an entire camera bag. I'm in the middle of editing the review for the peak design travel backpack. It should be dropping in a few days, check it out, it might provide some clarity.

Did you ever consider moving the key leash?The swivels on the straps allow you to rotate and store the straps like very few other bags. There are so many other pockets that criticizing the laptop compartment pockets seems trivial. By the way, the side sleeves are also meant for a tripod, umbrellla or other similar objects. This is a fantastic bag and the nits that you pick at are minuscule compared to the tremendous thoughtful design. Remove the origami shelves and get some pouches and you have a great dump backpack. I like the shelves, and the ability to organize it for a drone and/or DSLR, or a weekender. I've owned many, many different backpacks and this is my all-time favorite. The only thing that comes close for dual purpose is the Nomatic McKinnon and it is too structured in my opinion.

I've watched probably a dozen+ of your guys' videos now and I'm starting to get choice paralysis 🤣 the quality's great though and I appreciate the help! I love this bag but I usually have 2+ laptops on me and not sure there will be room for them, not to mention my main one is 16", any other recommendations for a backpack? I like the idea of something other then gray or black, and like something more on the minimalist side, but all is negotiable if it comfortably holds my stuff lol.

@@Nomads.Nation I've been using the nomatic ECD for years.. They are compaigning their new everyday camera line.. Saw that and it triggered me to research on everyday tech backpacks and what can match/better the nomatic... before I actually buy a camera backpack (when I'm not a photographer) I find myself using all the small compartments in the nomatic backpack, but some stuff were a little too bulky for the compartments to handle... While the main compartment feels a little disorganized and I end up having my stuff flying around in there rather annoyingly.. (tough to pull out the things that I want) That's why I was considering backing their new McKinnon camera line for further main compartment organization.. (but omg that backpack is expensive, even on KS) I suppose my main question is how convenient are the deviders in the peak design backpack to store non dslr but everyday stuff, eg: portable chargers, specs, shades, a pack of playing cards, handphone stands, Bluetooth receivers, speakers etc... And would it be easily accessible? (I noticed that you can't open the peak design back completely flat open like the nomatic) And ofc, if you have a recommendation for another backpack with matching or even higher level of organization than the nomatic. PS: your channel is really really dope. It's an amazingly in depth review and guide.. Exactly the kind I would want to watch if I were buying these pricey bags/luggage awesome job there, I hope you make it big. I'm a fan.

As for your question, I do think that the flex-folds will help keep you organized, but it won't be as tight/neat/secure as designated / built in pockets like the Nomatic packs. Aer Tech Pack 2 might be a good alternative for you, as well as the Boundary Supply Errant. Let me know what you end up deciding, and seriously thanks so much for the support :)

Mmm.. I started to write a long comment here, but nah. In the end of this vid I realized that he's not a (boy) scout. You know "once a scout...". There are so many trivial "mistakes" and I really hope that the beer got to him. I'm not an expert on this backpack at all since I didn't know that it existed until today (this is the second presentation I've seen of it so far). But all these details of the backpack can't be ignored. You'll figure it out (I hope). It was a good vid and I've learned more of the bag in this presentation, and from just seeing it being handled around. I liked the post production and I really liked the segments you used to present it. But the focus though! What camera are you using there? Grab a Sony or a Fujifilm to get some focus ;) Thank you - I'll definitely give a thumbs up!

The presentation content and video quality on your videos is good, but the sound is often mediocre; there’s a ton of echo present at times. Sound is more integral to the apparent professionalism of your content than the video. It should be second only to the script. Fix that and you’ll be golden.

As a minimalist, I’m drawn to the smaller size packs (hate carrying big ones)… You’d be surprised what I’ve fit in my other 20L backpacks for decently long trips… but I’m a little afraid this one might be a little too segmented off, meaning there won’t be as much flexibility in what I can stuff in here.. that said, I recently acquired a peak designs sling bag (it came as a “free gift” with my 90mm Fuji lens) and WOW it kinda rocked my world. Suddenly I’m very interested in Peak Designs… May be picking this up soon. 🤷‍♂️😍 Thanks for your great review!

Ditto on comfort. Osprey packs can make weight DISAPPEAR! PD-no way. Goes for Slings as well. The 10L Sling perfectly holds my beast-Canon 5DMK3 with a 28-300 attached, but the strap makes the weight hurt. It's likenthe design team never really addresses actual use function., I think the flex folders would actually make a fantastic portable shelf/storage system. They should make various heights and partially forget using a pack. E.g. you could use the bag as a portable kitchen-set it on a table and have access to cooking stuff, dishes. Or a portable office. I think this could adapt to a camera storage tower-to hold various cameras, chargers and accessories and stay most in one place. This is the kind of thinking that can come from letting design serve function, not the other way around. I would never buy this bag for what's it's intended. All the designy stuff just limits the bags usefulness and wastes space. And first number one consideration is how it carries weight walking around all day in Asia, e.g. Actually, I would buy a huge expedition dump bag to get where I'm sleeping, then walk around with nothing but what fits in my pockets- just switching out only exactly what I need for the moment. I don't need a $300 pretty photo op for looking good. Especially with RAIN. You want to have a $5000 Leica tucked away in your PDEB during a Ho Chi Minh City deluge?

Only thing, the mag latch works like shit if you over fill the top-it has gaps doesn't hold well. It's almost as if the bag is meant to look at and not use. If you can't fill it you lose 30% of the space.
