Just impulse bought the 3l bag in Ash today while visiting my favourite camera shop and delighted to confirm that I can comfortably carry the Tamron 28-200 along with the 17-28 mounted on my Sony a7c. Just what I needed for travel. I will try to keep the bottom cleaner but the colour makes a nice change . I also own the 6l PD sling in Midnight but it is too big for me and I just don't like to carry it . If I have bigger /heavier gear than I will use a backpack for comfort. I did just switch the strap around on the sling as it was set up for left hand carry leaving the adjustable clip around the back instead of the front. This seems to be a great bag for a minimal carry- maybe keys and a small wallet in the front pocket but not much else.

Thanks, I had a ton of questions from the previous review, so did my best to show off the bag this time for better visualization. It’s impossible to try everything, however a max size should give a better representation without having to own the bag.

good to see as I once considered this bag... ive had a few different ones but currently using a 5L £15 GBP courier/sling bag thats cheap but better than my manfrotto one that was 5 times the price..

I almost always carry a tripod with me, so the V2 is clutch. The 5L is borderline perfect, like the size and look more than the 6L, but I’ll likely give it away to a family member. I was very close to sewing the 5L one point, then peak releases the 3/6L, I have poor sewing abilities 😅

How long is your Lumix with 10-25mm? My Fuji X-T20 with 70-300mm and 1.4x teleconverter is 20-21cm long. The interior dimensions for the 3L V2 are listed at 19.8cm. I'm wondering if there is some give here...

great video... would a 3L sling fit a sony A73 with tamron 28-75 with lens hood attached [lens hood fully extended and not reverse attached]. I was looking for something compact that i can quickly grab the camera and shoot.
@CharlieVN
@CharlieVN 3 жыл бұрын
if that's your only lens attached to camera, you can fit it laying sideways, hood fully extended

Great review, thank you for sharing! I appreciate the practical input as opposed to gushing about how wonderful everything is without using it. Do you think this bag would work well as an open "holster", where you would leave it unzipped as you walk around and could quickly insert or remove a camera (one-handed) whenever needed? That is the function I really want, but I want enough space for one extra lens storage, which holsters don't offer. I'm thinking Fuji X-T3 w/ 16-80 and the extra lens would be a prime. My concerns would be that even opened, the insert/remove space would be too tight to do so without having to stop and fiddle. Or, that the extra lens stored inside might not be secure enough and could fall out. Thanks!

you mean like a Fanny pack? this bag is too big for that imo. I do use a combination of peak belt clip with bag. least amount of fiddling with this method.
@pwithem78
@pwithem78 2 жыл бұрын
@@CharlieVN Not as a fanny pack. It would hang to the side with the strap over the opposite shoulder - like a messenger bag carry, which is how I tend to carry holsters. I like the minimalism of holsters (and the protection they offer vs a Peak Design Slide), but I'd often like just enough space for an extra lens and nothing else (maybe a battery or filter, but no tablets, smart phones, etc).

Some reviews mentioned the 3L bag itself even without anything inside is heavy especially for its size. What are your thoughts?
@CharlieVN
@CharlieVN 3 жыл бұрын
I would say that's true. The peak design bags in general are thin, but very dense, however, it's not an especially heavy bag due to the size. It could be lighter, and I think if they used an ultralight material, they might be able to save 150-200g? It's certainly designed extremely well, which is why it's a bit heavy. Same can be said about think tank bags, thin but dense, heavy bags.

would mounting the peak design quick release clip work on the strap for this bag? i want a small bag i can carry the mirrorless camera on the strap but put it in the bag if i am not using it for a bit.
@CharlieVN
@CharlieVN 3 жыл бұрын
you can do it, however it will sit diagonally and will not feel good, positioning is all off. Best on the bag itself as it's designed to keep your bag in the proper position, or on a belt.

Is this too big to use as a fanny pack? I'm 6 3 and I'm looking for a fanny pack that can easily hold my fuji xt4 and a spare prime or 2
@CharlieVN
@CharlieVN 2 жыл бұрын
it's a bit big for fanny pack, does not wear comfortably on the front, would much rather wear a belt oriented system if it came down to that. Keep in mind that I do use belt style bags A LOT, so my standards will be different... because I keep this bag so light, I typically keep on my back OR front. The way it works for the belt, it tends to loosen for me, wont stay tight.

sorry for the late reply, it should, but would be a tight fit. I can fit a Sony A7iii + 28-70 f2.8 + 17-28mm f2.8 in the bag, maxed out capacity. It's a little tight, but it's fine. The lens itself is 4.1" or 103mm long, and 67mm filter thread.
