If this had all the features of the 45 it would be perfect, but they need to evolve the design to include - the internal mesh pockets that are accessible from the front - they need to develop a way of including load lifters on the fold away straps. That’s the big reason why the 45 is uncomfortable

I’m a big fans of Peak Design, I have 30L everyday and 45L travel but I agree that 30L travel backpack without side access is a big miss. I have two broken zippers on two backpacks but it’s good that Peak Design replaced with new ones.

Yeah great to hear that Peak replaced your zips! Good on them! Thanks for watching and sharing your experience! What other bags do you use/like?

@@KendrickDischCreative I’m looking at one of the Shimoda’s backpacks. They seem like a good choice for outdoor adventure, but may be a bit too much for city and travel

@@stratopause I have the shimoda explore v2 in the largest size. It’s in the review queue! It is an awesome bag and is really one of the finest camera bags I’ve ever used. I think the stylings actually make it pretty good for urban and office use because it doesn’t scream outdoor bag. It actually is kind of refined and has a sleek exterior. Mine is a bit big for that tho. The 25L is probably perfect in that use case.

@@KendrickDischCreative So the 35L with the big DSLR pouch?

Comfortability is subjective. If you don't find PD backpacks comfortable, then that's fair and people shouldn't be upset with that. It's crazy how people line behind brands like it's a part of their identity.

Omg a comment that is reasonable and logical! How dare you! Haha! Im actually a huge fan of Peak Design and love a ton of their products. I think they are pushing the industry forward and love that they are photographer centric. Just wish the shoulder straps were a bit more comfy. That’s about it really! Thanks for watching!

No idea why, but I'm just not a fan of using Peak Design bags. I LOVE the appeal of both PD and Nomatic, but I don't actually like using their bags. I have multiple PD bags, but I always move back to something more... simple. One thing is for sure - I don't like the way the zippers feel. Too difficult to unzips with a single hand most of the time, especially when the zipper goes around a curve or some type of angle. The idea of PD is fantastic! It's just the practical use I'm not as comfortable with.

I'm a huge fan of the brand and love the original 10L sling, the packing cubes, camera cubes, camera straps, tech pouch, and wash pouch (still gotta try the smaller wash pouch!). I've got a 65L duffel and I need to get that reviewed pretty soon (it's great!), but the backpacks haven't quite landed for me (I've tried the 45L travel, the 30L everyday, and now this 30L travel). The way I see it, you can love a manufacturer but don't have to love every product they make! There are way too many great bags out there to be limited to only one brand.

@@KendrickDischCreative This makes a lot of sense- I would agree. Of the products I've used from them (the backpacks, the camera cubes, field pouch, tech case, straps), they are great products that were executed extremely well, but I think it's just an accessibility thing in my mind. I do like the tech case, and I wonder if it's because of the easy access/wide open design. The field pouch is simple and easy to open, but it's difficult to see inside and get what you need quickly. Everyday Backpacks seem crowded inside and the zipper is funky, plus I worry about the laptop zipper on top bearing the full weight of the shoulder straps. The messenger bag opening is the worst I've seen of any bag... but I WANT to love these products so much! If they blended their design features with the simple functionality of a 26L GoRuck GR1, or the Mystery Ranch 3-way, I think they would enter an entirely different realm of possibilities. I, like many others, am on an impossible search for the perfect bag. I may never find it.
