Add Day Sling 3 Max X Pac to your title. The standard Day sling max 3 has a Grey, and doesn’t have beautiful Orange liner. The video search is difficult if title is different from your product 😢

Personally I love bags that don't have side access. Security is my main concern and I travel a lot through SE Asia so just knowing that the only way someone can get into my camera gear is through my back is a big plus. Also, manufacturers often make compromises in designing side access to where they put it on the wrong side for like half the population, and if you put it on both then you lose the ability to use the dividers to the fullest since you can't permanently affix anything to those opening doors- which often either feel too big for M4/3 and APSC users and too cramped or tight for anyone with a bigger body like the Z8 or have a battery grip on there.

Your points are excellent. I think this bag serves some use cases well and others not so well. And that’s the beauty of doing these reviews! It’s one opinion among hundreds and in aggregate they can help someone decide! Cheers! PS: heading to Southeast Asia in 6 months. Needing advice if you got any to share!

Hi Kendrik, I love your 11C's comparison strategy. It is absolutely brilliant. You might want to add one more 'C' to that, i.e.. 'Customer Service', because I would love to know how their customer service is, after I purchase a product from a backpack company. It really matters a lot for someone like me, especially when its purchased from a country outside its origin and does not have a branch or a service center in the country where he/she resides (I am presently residing in India). Don't you agree? Anyway, I am in the process of purchasing a 28L travel backpack. Is there any other product that is better than this Able Carry Max featured in this video? It must be light and must be a winner (by your 11 C's comparison standards). A big con with the Evergoods backpack velcro patch is that I feel it if is not covered by some patch (logo), then it could ruin the clothing of a person standing behind you. Standing and moving in a line is quite common while boarding or getting off a flight. Sometimes some people may get too close for your comfort and if that happens, the Velcro surface could ruin the clothing of the person standing immediately behind you. Velcro surfaces have ruined some of my clothing in the past and I wouldn't want anyone standing behind me, to pay a price from that exposed velcro space. Keep up the good work.
@KendrickDischCreative
@KendrickDischCreative Ай бұрын
thanks for the comment! adding the "customer service" is a good idea. Not sure how I could reasonably test that though? and it might fall under the "company" one too... but it's a good thing to keep in mind for future videos! Regarding the velcro... it's the soft velcro side, so I don't think there's any chance or ruining anyones clothes just by brushing against it. Plus it's very small. another pack to checkout for travel stuff is the Pakt 35L Travel Backpack. It's quite good, but yes, a bit bigger than 28L. I have the 45L version and it's really smart but it's a bit too big. There's a discontinued LowePro travel backpack I really like called the LOWEPRO - HighLine BP 400 AW 36L and it is really perfect for me, but you're probably not going to find it except maybe on Ebay. I did a review of the smaller version called the BP 300 AW and it's 22L. The Able Carry Max, the Evergoods options, maybe something from AER (haven't tried yet), are really good options. The good thing is that there are SO MANY options in the 28-30L range that there is definitely a bag for you!

Hi Kendrick, just found your review. Very comprehensive, thank you. I was wondering, don't know if you remeber the exactly lay out, but can the top access be used for access to the main bag, so you can use it as a top loader for a body+70-200, for example, like a Lowepro Protactic? Keep up the great work.

Although its a size preference, I see a lot of improvement that can be made with your edc items that would then allow you to accommodate your anker power bank. Specifically a 140w anker power supply (smaller than your mac charger and also has enough juice for your cell and other items). You can replace all those wires with a single highspeed 6 in 1 cable charger (make room and upgrade cables at the same time) They have smaller, brighter, and more efficient lights to make more room in your tech pouch. Olight, fenix, nitecore, etc.. Again, your reason for wanting to upgrade in size is solely based off of the items you currently carry (which is totally ok) but worth upgrading. Nice video!

The flaps are designed to open outward so you could have both compartments open at the same time giving full access. If they were back to back the flaps would interfere with each other and could only have one side open.

It seems some 45 liter bags are too large for a carry on according to some airlines. have you had any issues with it being a carry on? will it fit under the seat in front of you on the plane?
@KendrickDischCreative
@KendrickDischCreative Ай бұрын
Never had issues with it being a carryon. I don’t often try to stick a bag this big under the seat because I hate having any bag under my feet. I also don’t have extra small planes or smaller international airlines. I’d caution against using any bag that pushes past 35L under the seat. But I can’t answer your question with any particular accuracy.

I think people that buy these are not really working photographers, what I have found is the bags that lay down on the front and the rear opens are ideal for on set photographers, when you get to a location it’s almost like a gear shelf you can come grab things as you need them, the everyday bag I found (even though I love it) to be problematic when on set because if you leave it open and on the ground, stuff likes to roll out of the sides, so the everyday bag is better for people that will be shooting without removing the bag. If you aren’t on location making money, you probably have no reason to bring the kitchen sink, just get a sling, a capture clip and bring a few lenses and don’t worry about bringing everything imaginable.

While i do agree the bag definitely has some comfort concerns depending on how much you pack it and individual body types. I need to comment as a PSA for anyone else who stumbles upon this video. • This is a SLING bag, think backpack but just one strap, its meant to sit on your back - high or low - not on your side like a messenger, hip, or shoulder bag. • Kendrick, unfortunately you were wearing the bag "backwards/upside down" during this entire video. The "short side" of the strap you kept referencing was facing the wrong way on the wrong shoulder, thats why the buckle was resting at the top of your shoulder instead of on your chest or lower where it belongs. The strap is reversible yes, so you can choose your preferred shoulder - but the buckle should sit at the lower point. Like I said, i agree with your concerns and points, but for the sake of the review and other people who will land on this video, you were wearing the bag incorrectly throughout this entire video.
@KendrickDischCreative
@KendrickDischCreative 3 ай бұрын
Thanks for commenting! Your comment is well-written and has a helpful tone, which is rare here on YT. I have to assume you're a bot! I just went and reversed the strap and put it back on to remind myself how that felt. I think the problem falls into the bucket that this is designed to be worn across the back exclusively and due to it being a camera carrier... I'm wanting a sling that sometimes is on the back and sometimes spins around to be worn on the front depending on how often I'm pulling out the camera. I think this bag could potentially serve that purpose with a padded strap the entire length and an easy way to increase the length and shorten the length depending on the moment/mood/situation (like the Peak Design straps). while i was looking/thinking about this situation, I thought maybe just replacing the strap IS the answer... so I dug up a few straps I had sitting around including the Tim Bihn absolute strap, which actually improved the comfort by a fair margin, but didn't totally solve the issue and also created an awkward hanging with the bag leaning away from the body more than it should. I think if there were a couple of hook points that were higher up above the center of gravity on the bag, then it could come down to simply choosing a strap I liked better. Anyway, thanks again for your comment, I hope it and this comment, help others make the right choice for themselves!

This video saved me from a big mistake, thank you. While the offset pad works for me as I always carry as a sling with my bags on my back as intended unless actually accessing the interior that short strap would be a deal breaker. I'm 6' 6", 230 pounds and I can image it would be at least as short on me as on you. My Peak Design Everyday Messenger 13" is just barely long enough but just too large. My Bellroy 10L sling works well, is not as boxy and still holds a large body w/lens and 2 extra lenses.

BTW, their website says the strap adjusts from 52" down to 16" on the current models which does seem short.

@@kuekidd ok I disagree with the 'just marketing' angle... but letting that slide, you're on here watching bag reviews to help you decide which bag you want. I think video reviews on youtube a great way to help people make the right choice the first time, so they buy quality gear that aligns to what they like = less waste. I do purchase more bags than the average person, but I'm not throwing them in the landfill when I'm done. I'm selling them to someone else that wants a nice bag at a good price instead of buying a piece of junk that will wind up in a landfill. And by the way, Pakt is probably one of the most sustainably minded bag makers out there right now.
