Looks exciting. Can’t believe you pitched in a dip where you were more likely to get buried in. Nuts. Your mate pitched on the top, more wind etc but less chance of a burial. Cracking video, I’m nearly 60 never wild camped but just about to start doing. Covinced my misses to come with me. I won’t show her this video just yet though. 🤪. Absolutely loved the video. I live at the foot of the Peak District, it’s on my doorstep. Very lucky, need to get out there now. 👍❤️🏔

Can be brutal in those conditions but i love it up there when it's like that.ayy i'd pitched there thinking i was just out the worst of the wind little did i know it was a prime drift spot,the soulo dealt with the snow load easily though.you are very lucky living on the doorstep of the peak district,it's an hours drive for me which aint bad really but do wish i loved closer..get your'e self out wildcamping now im sure you'll enjoy it.tfw.Andy.

Gordon Bennett Andy! That looked pretty extreme. I bet the mountain hares liked it too. Good job you have the Soulo as I can't imagine many tents being able to stand up to those conditions. Was you able to get a decent night's kip? Anyway, an absolute classic that....fair play to you. Best wishes, Chris

Thanks Chris ayy the tent is designed for that type of thing mate so dealt with it easily.slept like a babbi too i always do,i wear ear plugs so unless it's totally mental the wind i sleep well.it's one ill always recall fondly this one in future when remembering winter camps.tfw.Andy.

Hi Andrew what a great video what was it like in the tent not to cold 👍
@AndrewBeavers4 жыл бұрын
Thanks Jeffrey it wasn't bad in the tent actually..the snow actually acts as insulation from the wind keeping it a tad warmer in there.tfw.Andy.

Was at the Rambler Inn Edale week before last; 33 degrees, so gave up any thought of getting up onto Grindslow via Ringing Rodger. Heat exhaustion/stroke can kill. Very different in the winter though.

It's been a while Andy but all I can say is, brilliant! You're hopes came into being mate in good style. There was drama in this from the start. Is it or isn't it? Will it or won't it? Yeah, I can see why you had a ball on this one. Good going. Mark

Been a winter camp ive been wanting for many winters this one Mark & i finally got it.i didn't quite expect it to be as deep as it got but that made it all the more fun,it was interesting digging the tent out for sure.tfw mate & keep safe.Andy.

And that's why the Hillebergs cost so much, my tent would have been on the deck 😂😂😂. Great adventure Andy thanks for sharing ATB Phil 👍

Some 70 years ago I wild camped there on Kinder Scout in deep snow in midwinter I had a Blacks Wanderlust tent with flysheet (all Egyption cotton), a Blacks Good Companions down sleeping bag (which I still have and use0 and did my cooking on a Primus pressure stove. It is easy to be warm in deep snow, you can build wind breaks for protection and I had a very warm comfortable time

Hi Keith ayy i was surprisingly warm in the tent it's surprising how the snow actually insulates.sounds like you had a great time up there just like i did although kit has changed a great deal over the years its vital to keep warm in those conditions.tfw.Andy.
