Always a blessing when you get to spend time with your mom. The view is always great at the restaurant but we have found the food to be hit and miss. Looks like your meal was a hit. Thank you for sharing.

It was definitely a hit this day. The waitress did tell us that the chef was in that day. Of course that makes all the difference. It was my first time eating here out of all the times I've been to the area. Love that y'all have been here too. Thanks for watching and commenting!

You always do good videos. This one... You did well collaborating with God on this and allowing Him full creative control. God does everything so very, very well, doesn't he? This wasn't just a review. Nor, even a video. It's a blessing. This made me think of the times when my parents, my now ex-wife, and I would go out together. Rare times. But, memorable. A funny memory was on what would be his last trip in this life, my father buying me a six-pack of beer because "I'll never get to do it again", as he put it. Then, with my mother after my father had passed, going to dinner on Christmas Eve and taking my mom to worship afterwards. After my daughter was born, we only had one trip of us visiting my grandmother and then celebrating Christmas Eve. Seeing my grandmother snap from the fog of Alzheimer's to lucidity was truly a Miracle. Hearing her say, "Is that my great-grandchild?" was beyond words. Seeing my 94-year-old grandmother still able to change a diaper was amazing. She said afterwards , "I never thought I'd do that again! And, I never thought I'd want to do it!" My grandmother passed less than a year later. We were only able to get together with my mother a couple more Christmases before arthritis took her mobility. And, Alzheimer's took her mind. My mother's biggest laugh of the Christmas Eve's we got together was at my daughter's first Christmas. I'd given her a Lionel train set. Being a longtime N scale modeler, I thought it wouldn't be a problem to set up. Then, I smelled something burning! I started freaking-out! A burning odor is not good at either N or H0 scale! My mother started laughing. She gestured to my now ex-wife. She started smiling! Mom goes and says, "Maybe you should read the box instead of the instructions?" On the box was "Die-Cast smoking locomotive!" Her last words to me the evening she passed were, "You're still my little boy. Still playing with trucks in the dirt and rocks.... electric trains.... ham radios and TV's. I love you." I'm crying at the memories. God Bless!

Wow! What sweet memories you shared. I love your moms last words to you. You never know when the last time will be the last time with your loved ones. Carly had her band concert tonight and all 3 of her living grandparents were able to be there. So glad we have the promise of heaven.

Greg and I really Enjoyed this Adventure! I loved your seat that view was amazing . Your food looked so good a fried chicken tender salad is probably my favorite . Your sandwich looked great too I have never had that warm honey , I need to try that sometime. Your Mommy is so sweet I enjoyed seeing her in the video . Thanks for sharing this 🧡🤍Ren ( & Greg )

We were talking about going to the Peaks of Otter last night. Beautiful area in the fall. I looked online to see if they still do the seafood buffet and didn't see anything about it. May have to call. Thanks for watching!

We had such a great day at the Peaks! We enjoyed being together, the walking path, and of course our fantastic lunch. Definitely enjoy the time we have together!

This is cool that you ate here. I have been to this restaurant several times over the years - and have visited the Peaks of Otter several times as well to enjoy the great views. In fact, Jack and I were just discussing staying here to do a review of the lodge and restaurant when we head back in that direction some day. Better than Chick-fil-A's waffle fries? That is high praise. Looking forward to getting back here some day. Bonnie's book sounds interesting too. Thanks for sharing this review!

I'm not sure why we have never eaten here before. I couldn't tell you how many times we have been to the Peaks of Otter. I look forward to seeing the review when you do it. Bonnie was such a sweet lady. I haven't read it yet but look forward to it.

Kristin and I usually go up in the fall for lunch, walk around the lake, the trees are beautiful then. On the way home we stop by Gross’ orchard.
