One of my favorites too. It's a good historic recipe that has stood the test of time. 😀

Hi, love your recipe. How long does it take to just cook the product (excluding cooling time)?

The length of time it takes varies each time I've made it , this is why you have to use a thermometer. Differences in stoves, altitude, temperature, barometric pressure, humidity, the pan you use and even the settings on the stove can make a difference. A candy thermometer can be purchased for $5.00 to $10.00 U.S. and will give years of use. 🤔

I'm a little confused . I just watched a video you made from Dec 1. 2014. It appears to be the same recipe. ( 61 yr old retired truck driver here trying to make peanut brittle like I used to 30 yrs ago when my kids were young) In the 2014 video you said that it took you just under 35 minutes to make it. In this video you mention over 2 hours to make it. Are they different recipes? Why the time difference? I am also having a hard time finding the peanut brittle that is more like a brown candy apple coating. I think it was called Original Peanut Brittle. Thanks.

In one I was just referring to the time to actually cook the product, in the other I add extra time for cooling the product. Over time I have gotten better at this so I try to consider all the aspects to making a recipe and what someone who may know nothing about making this type of recipe might need to know. This is why I am remaking some of my older videos. 🤔

For the other recipe just try this one and leave out the active ingredient Baking Soda.

Why not just get in the kitchen and make a batch. 🤔

My kitchen is a little limited right now, but I will eventually. Just need to add some things to make it really functional.
