@RobertAslinMusic7 жыл бұрын
Sneak Chamber If NASA wanted to they could fill an entire cargo craft with bread. They just don't because regular sandwich bread creates crumbs that can get everywhere and disrupt the onboard systems.
@mickclose76857 жыл бұрын
Robert Aslin Music also bread is really fluffy, and condensed down it would probably as much as a tortilla.
@Nothing_serious7 жыл бұрын
I think because tortillas are more lightweight than a regular bread. NASA has to manage the loads that they send because the heavier it is the more expensive it gets.
@BadBoiFX7 жыл бұрын
Your Waifu Sucks Bread makes crumbs and its hard to clean up that's why they use tortillas.

Dobbsy not all of it, there would still be gravity, but the gravitational pull would not be as strong as the one on earth so, say I was 100 pounds on earth, I would be about 10 pounds on the moon. But I don't know about just in space, there could be no gravity there, but idk.

It was a joke, there's technically always gravity pulling in space it's just miniscule or massive depending on where you are.

Since when does the ISS have Jif and Smuckers in commercial packaging and not with all the food being in those sealed silver bags that used to be in every astronaut ISS video ever?
@paulzuk146810 ай бұрын
Prepared meals are sealed in those bags, codiments and snacks - not necessarily, as a large amount of those are brought up either on special request or in a crew member's private allotment (the Crew Care Package) that they get on every supply flight.

There is a plane called vomit comet that astronauts can use to practice. I think the general public may be able to have access too. Basically what it is is a normal plane that kinda takes you up, and then it kind of nose dives at the right speed so you start floating inside. This is actually very good simulator for floating. It works because you and the plane both start falling down together, so you no longer “stand” on the plane but rather fall inside it as it falls too, so you just float. Eventually it will need to pitch back up and then you can repeat it many times. Check out some videos on it.

Fun fact: Astronauts can’t have bread in space because of the crumbs! It can easily/possibly float into the air vents which would result in clogging and cause other potential issues. Tortillas obviously don’t crumble as much.
