Hi Karma. I have recently switched to a vegetarian diet (lacto ovo but not yet vegan, don’t think that I will at least any time so ). Just a question - do you find it difficult to make sure that none of your household products/clothes etc... have any trace of animals in them? Also one thing that concerns me even when have vegetables are sourced, how to know whether animals were harmed or killed, eg often farmers will put poison out to kill rabbits who try to eat their lettuce. I am yet to find a solution to this conundrum; I am not in a position to grow my own vegetables. How do you overcome this personally? Thanks so much

To be honest I'm constantly learning. There's some great websites that help with things like brands that test on animals to avoid and what products are vegan friendly. Most farmers markets are run by the people that grow the vegetables they are selling and are willing to answer any questions. Definitely check out if there are some in your area. I think different parts of the world will have different laws etc. So it's a bit of trial and error. But I feel I'm at least heading in the right direction and trying hard to do my part, even if sometimes I might unintentionally F up! 😉🖤

Thank you so much for your reply and tips, will take on board. Also just wondering, did you take the vegetarian step between eating meat and vegan? As I recall meat recipes that you used to make? I became a vegetarian at aged 8-11, am now 28 and have just gone back to being vegetarian after those 17 years. Was it hard to give up dairy and eggs? I had no trouble giving up meat but I tried a vegan diet and lasted all of four days; I love my dairy too much, like cheese and sweet puddings and cakes. No offence to vegans but to me vegan cheese tastes like nothing. I make sure to buy cheeses that don’t contain animal rennet :)

@@mj12322r I was vegetarian for a few years before going vegetarian. I've never been a big meat eater even as a child. To be honest at first I did find it difficult but now its second nature. There are some God awful cheeses out there, but there are also some really nice ones too. I really haven't missed a thing! Baking is exactly the same and any other food can be easily substituted. If you're really interested in going vegan watch Dear Vegetarian and This is your wake up call by James Aspey here on KZbin and Dominion, also on KZbin. The dairy and egg industry are some of the worst. When I think how those poor animals suffer I suddenly don't miss that piece of halloumi x

i would add an extra layer on peanut butter between the base and the jam. :P

You could definitely do that. I think this is a great balance of both as I added peanut butter in the base. But recipes can always be tweaked for personal taste 👍
