Thanks a lot. Easy to make, cheap in making, light AND tasty. On short Trips i use japanese Udon noodles, those are a bit thicker but they soak Up the Sauce...awesome! Thanks

Great meal Andrew. Just trying it for lunch and it will make my list for a trip I'm going on at the beginning of November. I'll have this atleast once perhaps twice. Rice and Beans with fritos and cheese I'm having 3 times :) Thanks Nate

Great recipe for the outdoors. I make mine by adding the oil to a bowl, then all other ingredients except the PB and whisk. Then microwave the PB on medium for 90 seconds and fold it into the oil mix with a silicone spatula. I also throw in some coconut milk, wasabi, toasted sesame oil, ginger powder and crushed red peppers for extra flavor. I like to make batches and store in used PB jars.

I make the same thing with some tweaks. I add mashed up spam to the sauce, makes it thick and delicious. I also add dehydrated veggies I bought in a jar and ginger powder and curry powder and soy sauce to make it more oriental.

Andrew rarely makes a mistake, but the order is to pour the noodles and water mix container into the seasoning container. Saves water and some clean-up.

Hey do you dump all/some/none of the water for the ramen? Hard to tell from the video (looks like there is still some water in there or perhaps you cooked it off?)/ Stoked to try this.
@skurkaandrew6 жыл бұрын
I leave the water in there, so that the sauce spreads easily. If you go overboard on water, however, you'll have to dump some out so that the sauce does not get diluted.

I wonder if could make & mix sauce in freezer bag ahead of time add ramen. When ready to eat just add hot water....soak in cozy for 15 minutes then mix and eat....I love his beans and rice recipe. I'll give it a try...

Wow!! Delicious!

I recommend storing the sauce in a container, like a disposable water bottle or a HDPE Nalgene. Before the meal, add water to the bottle and shake it up, so that it's easier to pour.

Any recommendations for containers that are leakproof? Thank you

How long does the mixture last on the trail?

Everything is shelf-stable, so a long time. Tomorrow morning I'm going in to the field again on a guided trip, and I'll be feeding clients a batch that I made about three weeks ago, never refrigerated. I have no concerns about its quality.

How weak can you be to find sriracha too spicey?

did it bother anyone else when he added the sauce to the noodles instead of adding the noodles to the sauce? waste of sauce, harder to clean. (but the recipe does look pretty darn good. I'm gonna have to try it)
@22progre775 жыл бұрын
wizeird I think the reason he did it this way is he usually makes the sauce at home, so wanted to show how it would be made in the field. Sauce into noodles

Or you could just simply add peanut butter to your ramen.
@justonemori5 жыл бұрын
I used to do that, this way has so much more flavor.
