Fun Fact: did y'all know what the original gun looked like? the fire lance was literally a piece of bamboo tied to a spear, which shot a blast of gunpowder right in the enemy's face, and acted kinda like a combination of a flamethrower and a shotgun; which despite how awesome that sounds it had very little range, and you could only shoot once since the bamboo would be completely destroyed afterwards. they eventually switched to metal barrels and ditched the whole spear point, creating the first hand cannons which were a lot more effective. but yeah, the original gun was just a bamboo firecracker tied to a gun
