I'd like them to make a new ES, but instead of trying to make Skyrim 2, try to reproduce the magic of Daggerfall and it's dozens of play styles and sense of impossible scope and unpredictable exploration. Maybe update the combat system too. Not that the original's was bad, but it was jarring to smite an army of skeletons with your mighty blade, and then get your ass kicked by one woman in a coat because your steel sword couldn't pierce her fabric clothing.

They're a tad too archaic for me, so I never got to do anything cool (furthest I got in Arena was like halfway through Stonekeep). They're not bad, just poorly aged. Morrowind struck a nice balance between the two extremes of the series (super archaic vs super streamlined). I still dream of the return of levitation...

in the worst way possible. i hate to say it but arena was such an overboard game with so many new concepts that some would consider it bad. now, daggerfall was amazing. they learned alot by making daggerfall, and it was a gem. loved daggerfall. and every elderscrolls after it, im a scholar when it comes to TES, except online. online is a dull mmo with TES skin

Yeah but Daggerfall was a bit too big, dungeons were too easy to get lost in (although I'm semi-fine with that), townspeople lacked personality, game balance was non existent (get str, agi, end, and speed to 60 and become a werewolf, grab daedric weapons in rusty ogre, make sure you got increased magery so you do the spells and now you're instantly op in 15 minutes), more bugs (even in 213) than even arena could dream of having. Overall, I fuckin' love Daggerfall and it's easily one of my favorite games of all time. My point is; Arena is not as bad as you think. I mean, you only need a mouse and arrow keys to play the whole damn game. I generally liked the atmosphere and feel to the game. Daggerfall's colors are somewhat unsaturated adding this "dead" vibe to everything. Oh yeah and the main thing I like about Arena over Daggerfall is that the wilderness is randomly generated, so running around like an idiot wasn't pointless like in Daggerfall and you'll run in to random dungeons with fat loot. Daggerfall felt more locked to just asking people for work and then just fast traveling to the premade dungeon set for the quest while Arena's premade dungeons were limited mostly to the main quest and for the others that Daggerfall would usually reveal to you via a quest, you had to run around in the wilderness like a jackass to find. But, yeah Daggerfall is good upgrade to Arena.

Temmie tHE tEM that was so read, i read half yesterday, and the second half today. but i just feel like alot of games took daggerfall as influence, and it was the perfect sequel to a rather.. rough start of a series, daggerfall was amazing, my favorite parts include how much you talk about with people, imagine this way. if daggerfall had been this year, or last year, with the amazing technology we have now, it would literally, literally, be the best game ever made.

Yes it would be badass. Just better graphics and more equipment along with dlc? No. It would still be rough and near unplayable for the common casul.
