for many years she's actually been very open in many interviews and developer podcast discussing different hurdles of game monetization, game development cultural differences between korea and the west, sharing her childhood experience with gaming with friends, from Tekken to Starcraft, etc (you can easily look these up on youtube). She tried to organizing events after very much inspired by how EVE Online frequently has players and developers interact, and how much it helps with the feedback for development. It's not a stretch to be certain the entire reason why PA started listening at all to the players is because of her push for it ever since she left Kakao to join PA when the publishing contract ended

Game devs always flow between job titles and projects. Her being in her position for 6 years is pretty standard, and she is probably moving on to another project/change of pace. This isn't anything new in this industry and certainly not news worthy or indicative of anything negative. Source: partner is 16 year game dev vet.

Game is in a state where they either a) need a hard reset b) move on to another project, which I think they are doing. Due to inflated economy and constant progression devaluation game has lost any purpose. It's the only game where you felt that you can progress long term at your own pace and make every gain matter. Nowadays due to a myriad of their decisions they completely lost that direction. The only hard reset I see is viable is classic server, this way they can keep the old playerbase and keep the money in with the legacy server.

I've said it before - I don't see how BDO can fix the mess it is in now. I am not sure PA wants to fix it. In my opinion the game is in a "cow" state of its life cycle and it was put there by someone , because imo the game still has potential. The graphics and combat are still unmatched. So PA is going ot use the money from BDO to finance their 3 or was it 4 games in development, perhaps they have decided BDO would compete with Crimson Desert so there is no point in investing in the first one. If it starts to zombify I see it continue to try to cater to the WoW/FF14 PvE Snowflakes. Maybe one day we will see a Classic server of the pre-awakening game

The problem is that they are slow with the updates this year, but that's because they are working at bdo china the game will release in china this year and crimson desert will release next year in q1

@@reinhard98 this year? bdo is shitting itself since 2019. sure there were some moments over the recent years where things started to look better, but nothing ever came from it and now we're here in the worst state bdo has ever been in.

@@casualsinner it's not the worst , the pvp monkeys are saying that 2016 was the best time for bdo, but the game back then had the same number of players And about " this year? " bdo will launch this year in china after 10 years and pearl abyss will be at gamescom on 20/23 with crimson desert, they will show a 1 hour video about the game and they will market the game until december when they will say the release date ( probabily q1 next year)
