Pearl Boom Box Cajon Review by Sweetwater Sound

I have this cajon and love it! In addition to the cajon I got a Pearl case and a Pearl cajon cushion. I also bought Vater nylon brushes that lend a train sound to this. I am a guitar player, bass player and a singer. I figure this is as close to being a drummer as I care to get. I bought the Pearl Boom Box as a "one and done" purchase with this being about as good as the day I bought it. It is very well made, looks great, sounds great and is fun to play!!! 😎👍

I'm having a hard time finding a case that I can be sure matches the dimensions of this drum. Can you point me in the direction of where you found your case and what size I need to get to fit this cajon?

I played one of these at guitar center. The port makes a real difference. The bass is fat and resonant, yet not too sustained like a Djembe. I thought the snares were pressed too hard against the "skin." I had to strike hard to get the snare sound. However, this helped in producing the bass tone without snare. I'm sure this can be adapted to. The snare wires can probably be relaxed a bit with light bending. For $150, I say go with this sub cajon. The others have been a disappointment. This is an impressive cajon, for sure.
