Pearl Chrome over Steel Snare Demo

Picked up the nice Pearl Chrome over steel snare. Haven't had a steel snare in 20 years and hated it when I did have one. Learned how to tune and now I love adding a steel snare to my stable. Recorded on a ZOOM H1 (audio) and a Kodak Zi8 (video)

They are amazing snare drums and cost next to nothing, fantastic sound, competes on the same level as more expensive pro models, if you ever find one, buy it !

Hey I picked up the same snare for £40! Put emperor X ambasodor hazy and a puresound 30 strand on it. It's now my main snare! For everything

Difference between "mirror steel" and "sensitone steel" ? difference in quality? Does it taste almost the same?

Mirror has 8 lugs. sensitone 8 or 10 lugs. A different throw off, but the mirror was an earlier version of sensitone . Mirror is a lovely drum, with the same heads on both and tuned the same I doubt if you could hear the difference. The 14x5.5 mirror would make a nice jazz snare or a spare snare. You could probably pick 1 up for $100 .

I have the same snare and it's extremely ringy. With a singly-ply batter head, it's really difficult to get rid of the ring without the dampening. With dampening, it sounds very decent
