Pearl Flexi Razor! Is It Any Good?

The Pearl Flexi razor is a reasonably budget friendly razor that caters to those looking for the ability to adjust the setting of aggression/efficiency in their razor!
The razor offers a smooth shave but just lacks the finer details to challenge what is already a market full of amazing adjustable razors! That being said it still a lovely razor and worth a crack!

I have Version 5. The problems have all been resolved. The blade is perfect at every setting and the top piece fits flush to the bottom piece. Awesome razor for the price.

Great shave Cris! I also have the Pearl Flexi and mine has the same issue at level 6 and the top cap doesn't sit down all the way when putting it back in. However those issues were alright with me since I only use Settings 3 to 1 and get an amazingly smooth shave, especially when I have a Personna Red blade in. For the price I am quite happy. I do like my Pearl Flexi, I was one of the lucky ones that got a great example from the first batch, it is good to have a usable setting 1 on an adjustable I find on most, anything less than setting 3 is useless, The Taiga and Rocnel Sailor are still my 2 favourite adjustables but you can't fault the value of the Flexi. It shaves better than the Rex Ambassador although the Rex is better made, the Willy's blade are great too, I will defo get more when mine run out. I love your honest no nonsense approach, keep on being you, stay safe and keep well.

The EDTA salt is there either as preservative or to help with any use with hard water.

Titanium dioxide is fine (If I heard you right). It’s used in a lot of mineral sunscreens. It should act as an SPF. Pretty cool they’re putting it in a shave soap!

I've heard that some people have been able to address the blade gap problem at the higher levels but cranking it up and working the spring manually for a bit.

Hi Chris. I've been watching your videos for quite some time and I must say that I really enjoy them. All I can say is keep up the good work. One small observation, whenever your tap water is running it very difficult to hear you speak. The noise of the running water is just too loud. 😁

Hello Chris I really appreciate your honest and analytical review of the razor, over here in INDIA the price is on the higher side and by adding Rs 2000/- more you can get a Merkur Futur from AMAZON INDIA, but even then the quality of other Pearl razors is pretty good in price, however if I have to purchase then I will prefer Futur, I already have Parker Variant 👍👍👍

Hi Chris, Long time no see. I have been in contact with Kevy quite a lot, emails etc. I'm sorry your under the weather. I have just gone back to work for 3 days a week after a year on Furlough. I did the first week and my missus contracted the Corona virus so I spent a worrying 10 days in isolation. All OK now though. I am not mad keen on Adjustable razors. The new Ambassador is out at Executive now but I haven't heard if its any good. I heard the older Ambassador was a bit blade sensitive. I bought the Envoy instead. Recently bought 5 various Razorock's and love them. I watched Kevys review of this flexi razor. Still loving my Outlaw standard and Mild. Take care Chris, stay safe and get well soon, Dave.

Have you tried putting it back on setting one before you remove the head? See if that helps with the head not going all the way down.

It's a cracking looking razor, in my opinion. Pearl look to be trying much harder than some companies(insert well known maker of replicas here) to rectify problems with their products.

As far as the Pearl Man Coffeeop soap smelling like chocolate, some actual coffees do smell and taste like chocolate when they are brewed and drank. Nothing added to them! That is just how those coffees are.

Hi Alan, Had a chat with you a while ago about the AS-D2. Are you getting on better with it now? I don't use mine much. I have recently bought 4 lovely Razorock's with a 5th on order. With my Outlaws, Envoy, 3one6's, rocca, 6s & 6c I'm getting plenty of good shaves without the soreness that comes with overshaving with the Feather. The only true adjustable razors I have are a Parker Variant and a Q-shave Futur copy. Take care mate and stay safe, Dave.

At the moment I’m enjoy my charcoal goods level 2 SS but I’m searching for hammered ss handle no luck for over a year for deep search if you know anyone let me know please. I do have razorock .68P very nice and shaves amazing will buy another one too as well..glad your enjoying yours and getting more very nice.. Pearl just cannot engineer and manufacture a precise razor. No room in my collection for rubbish like that. Pearl should just stick with soaps.
