Nah man, for Pearl Jam, you are a perfect person to give a review, I trust your life long fan hood over anything for sure

Hey GI, Great video as always mate. I agree the album grows on you after a few listens. I like some of their slower songs but I think in general it’s awesome that guys of this age are still creating and recording music for people to enjoy.

They're not 80, they're not that old really. I don't understand people saying this, you wouldn't say it for any other occupation. I think it's great that Frank the architect is still drawing at the age of 60. You never hear that, but for some reason musicians are treated as if they have an expiry date way earlier than anyone else. In saying that, yes the Stones should have retired 25 yrs ago 🤣

You're spot on with this review GI. As a life life long Pearl Jam fan (since Alive was released), I think this album is incredible. It took a while for Gigaton to grow on me, but this one grabbed me right away, right from the lead single. It was a great first listen, and just keeps getting better the more I listen to it. Spot on with Upper hand and Waiting for Stevie. Those are the songs I'm gravitating to.... I don't know where I would place this in their catalog...it's too hard right now...but it's up there. Out of Self Titled, Backspacer and Gigaton, it's definitely growing to the number one spot out of those. I'm going to have to go back and listen to everything, to properly place this one among the classics...it might take years to do that.... This is a great one for sure. Can't wait to see what they have up their sleeve next.

Great review GI! I’m really enjoying the new album. My first listen was through headphones and it pulled me in immediately. It’s hard to pick a favorite, but if I had to, I’d go with Upper Hand. The guitar work is just stellar. I agree with your take on Won’t Tell. Definitely Cold Play (Yellow) vibes but not in a bad way. The ending also has some great melodic guitar work reminiscent of The Cure.

Im still digesting this album. Ive only gotten my 10Club edition last week. I streamed the album a few times. I was kind of disappointed that my copy didnt arrive until a week after the release date. Because I got impatient, I bought it on RSD. They GOT me. So now I have two copies. I think that was deliberate. At current, their tour is not in my area (Atlanta, GA.) and I dont see myself traveling to Philly, Boston, Chicago or New York. I hope they extend the tour or come here in 2025.

Pearl jam lost me after Vitology, but I'm really interested in hearing the new album, maybe I should go back to some other releases and give them a spin.

Yeah lots of people say that. They did it on purpose, and released my favorite album in 1996…No Code. A masterpiece

PJ used to be fierce, unfortunately their fire burned out years ago, they now make dad rock. The production is awful, Eddie sounds as plastic as the drums. This album reminds me of the last Stones album which also has awful production and hasn't got a single memorable riff, solo, lyric or moment on it. The type of album you listen to 3 times, put it on the shelf and have to force yourself to listen to it again months later then wonder why you bought it, just like people are probably now doing with the Stones album. If I'm in the mood for listening to PJ there's at least 8 albums in front of this.

Good video! For me it ranks behind Avocado, currently. Of course, like you said, it’s a fluid list. You nailed it on the head, these previous albums are ones that each person has history with, seen tours supporting them, life experiences.

Worst sounding album in my entire library! I have a good rig too. Can't even understand Vedder. No dynamics at all. Get the CD instead! Its so much better. What a shame!

So nuts. I have two copies and they both sound fantastic. Still on repeat

@@NTXVinyl I failed to mention that my copy is black which is supposed to be the best sounding color! I can't even imagine this thing as a colored variant! The $50 tag for a single LP is flat out theft! My $17 CD sounds excellent. My copy was also slightly dish warped. All responsible should be embarrassed! On a side note, I totally agree with you where you place it in the discography! In a way this makes me sad because imagine what Cobain could have done in 30 years! He was a true artistic genius.

I gave it a listen last night I have to say I was not impressed at all very disappointing Pearl Jam has become a shadow of its former self They have lost all originality and inspiration it seems These songs all sound the same other than maybe 2 tracks that sound different than the rest These guys blew it when they let Eddie the Commie Vedder take control of the band vitalogy was their last decent record and even it wasn't that good
