This is the first album in a while I've heard Stone play some parts that are so distinctly Stone. He's been told to be a guy who won't play anything that sounds like something he's done before. I read that YEARS ago! I think Ed said that. However after listening to EVERY album, you can basically always point out Mike. Ten is where Stone laid the foundation. Since then you hear bits he plays that are descendants of those foundational chord patterns and riffs. He is vital to this band

Heard the album last night twice at the Global Cinema event in Montreal and it totally rocks! Best album since Yield IMO ! And yes I love all the albums. My favorite songs are react, respond, waiting for stevie, setting sun & upper hand. The drums, solos and vocals are incredible too! 😎

Stone's enthusiasm lately (and particularly with respect to this record) is so refreshing. Beats the apathy I've seen from him at times on stage, especially during the BS/LB era.
@AMagnificentBastard4 ай бұрын
Most people are incapable of diagnosing "body language" believe it or not. It is usually just a projection of a person's own feelings and looking for confirmation bias. Meaning I have never seen anything close to "apathy" from Stone ever lol. In fact, he was electric on stage performing the Gigaton songs.

Stone is right about the Sphere. Just follow the likely news from the 300 and 400 levels over the rest of the year. If they can ever make a V2 of it, about 3/4 the size and safer above the 200 level, may be a better Pearl Jam fit. Let's see what happens to that building here soon. Stone might have some insight there

@@SpartanPridePod if you think the production on this thing sounds good.....well. It's completely over compressed.
@SpartanPridePod5 ай бұрын
@@cwilkerson3710 I just think it sounds good. I think the vocal is tucked for a reason, that's about as technical as I noticed. I'm no expert, but I'm with the masses. It plain sounds good. I don't know all of Watt's work but the stuff I know sounds good like this record and the Stones' new one. I'm sure others don't hear it that way. Surely there's a bunch of kids at SCAD or USC that have all the answer too.

Think its PJ's worst ever album. I love pj but this album aint got a single song i would pick to play if i was ever asked to do a pj set list. Everyone blowing wind up andrew watts ass but i dont see it myself one bit. Really disapointed tbh
@needley5 ай бұрын
I have heard the album twice at a listening gathering in London and it isnt a great album at all. Vedder said that this is their best work ever, what a crock of shit. It's such a sycophantic interview. Not a Pearl Jam album the interviewer doesn't like says it all. Pearl Jam haven't made a decent album since Binaural.
@craigdavies11175 ай бұрын
This is much better than binaural, just needs more listens, binaural wasn’t received well at first either. Something’s take time, or maybe it’s just not for you. It’s grown on me, didn’t like it much at first two days in and I really like it.
@QS-si3cq5 ай бұрын
It's more irrelevant new PJ music. Haven't had a great album since Yield, and haven't had a legitimately good album since Avocado....18 years ago. Every album: "This is some of our best work and the hardest sounding in a long time." Then, it always ends up being neither of those things.
