Will is such a polished player...he never seems to over play.....even went he went wild on this kit for demo reasons...he just has a way of playing just enough....thats class right there.

This kit sounds way better than the Music City MRV Custom Will plays in the other Memphis Drum Shop video. Think Pearl has something here with the maple/gumwood Studio shell.

Mr. Kennedy is awesome as usual...but the choice of heads (I'm assuming??) make this kit sound like a low end kit...In fact I've heard low end kits sound way better than this.

Papapoo Do It’s because Evans heads sound the same regardless of what quality kit they’re on, but if he put Remo heads on, you could tell that it’s a top of the line set.

Completely agree. EC2's are the deadest things outside of Hydraulics I've ever heard. A Remo Ambassador is what I would put on this kit.

Kick and floor are pretty good.. but that 10 and 12 should be ringing like a bell. Either the suspension or tuning is holding them back IMO.

Not a big fan of that bass drum. Might just be the way it was miced or the tuning. However, I am a very big fan of Will Kennedy. Been following this guy since the mid 80's when he was with the Yellow Jackets. Seriously under rated player. His playing on Politics and Greenhouse is masterful.

Why does everyone like their toms sounding like this? No dynamics whatsoever. That short, choked thud with a bit dive at the end. I laugh when people talk about "wide open" tom sounds and I hear this. 'Wide open' is early Mitch Mitchell, early Kieth Moon and 60 jazz players. None of this dull, characterless, plasticky thud.

Looks like Pearl is trying to be Sonor and isn't succeeding. Even with what appears to be Will Kennedy playing, that kit sounds like shit. Honestly I think my old Pearl Forum kit sounds better than anything they've done in the last 5-7 years.
