I have been playing drums for almost 30 years now and I am a snare drum collector . This was my first first pro snare drum of my collection. Believe me , great snare drum for classic rock , blues and jazz. Its Pearl I know but its a 100% vintage drum.

I've had this snare for a few years now and have not once had to adjust the tension on the snares - they've remained perfect ever since I got it. I actually like how they put Sensitone as the name, Pearl is above it. I love it!! A definite snare drum to have in your Collection. It sounds and plays great! David Curtis

For my taste that snare needs a little bit off tuning, i have listened those snares sounding incredible. nick di virgilio on sweetwater does a better review and show more or less the real sound that this sensitone could make. But that's just my opinion..

I have the Phosphor Bronze in this. Love it even better than this one..

the first man that plays the snare drum sounds much open than the second, the snare drum sounds really good.

Just goes to show you that two people can play the same drum and make a different sound. Technique and stick choice make a difference!

Isn't that brad paisleys drummer?

At the price this snare is going for I would rather buy the Ludwig Black Beauty. They are very close in price
@TempoDrift14803 жыл бұрын
There is no sense in paying anywhere close to those prices when you can buy all the parts for half the price. If you can drill a couple holes you can have just about exactly that same drum.

I would take a Black Beauty over the pedal snare any day of the week for sure…… This drum actually ( to me ) is just a Black Beauty wanna be…..

Shit, these days you might as well buy the parts and make it for half the price.
@roybeckerman92535 жыл бұрын
A lot of overtones.
@TempoDrift14803 жыл бұрын
Well you can wrap it in duct tape and de-tune it like beginners do because it's too loud.
@roybeckerman92533 жыл бұрын
Wizzle Never...I never muffle. You should be able to tune it, without all that..

They should do a blind review. Because each of them act like their company’s drum is gods gift to drumming when it’s reviewed and every other drum is garbage.

Also this drum is very badly tuned LOL
@AquaAnim9 жыл бұрын
not really sounds really open and airy, then again there is no "bad" tuning just different tunings unless youre choking the drum which isnt the case.
@U2WB9 жыл бұрын
I suppose.. But what I'm saying is that I used to own one of these, with the old-style Sensitone lugs and the beautiful shiny bronze color, and it sounded a whole heck of a lot better when I tuned it. This demo, in my opinion, does not do any justice to the drum. It sounds to me as though they took it right out of the box and played it without tuning it up first.

U2WB "It sounded a whole heck of a lot better when i tuned it" Someone is full of themselves haha.
@U2WB9 жыл бұрын
No, just better at tuning :)

No I'm not the best snare drum tuner around by any means. But I do know when a drum sounds terrible, and this drum sounds terrible to me. As I said before, this is what a Sensitone sounds like out of the box before anyone takes a tuning key to it. I'm only saying it needs a little TLC, is all. You're welcome to think what you want to think about me personally; I'm only talking about the drum. In the end all that matters is how good or bad the drum will sound within the context of the music. I feel - personally - that this drum could have been presented in a better light. I know from having owned one how great it *could* sound - but doesn't here. Having said all that, why am I wasting my time defending my position when frankly I don't care what you think of me. :)
