True. He used to hang out at Gordon Miller music in Towson Maryland back way way back and I'd catch him in there and just talk drums and drummers for hours. Nicest guy ever!!! Of course hearing and watching him play in person is just an unbelievable experience. When gets warmed up there is no more powerful exquisite musician you will ever see. A prodigy like no other. But to me pearl Master custom drums had a resonance that I never heard or felt with any other drums and I've played or owned them all. The pearls just made me sound way better than I should have. Probably just a personal thing to my own ear but I love those drums.

As if nothing happend between the 90ies and today, no transplant, no getting older. Very rare that somebody does not loose just a little bit quality & soul over all those years. Wow ! I hear snare drum ,bass drum and cymbals. Doesn't he like his toms? Pearl has great drums and a great tom sound! With other heads other sound, so personal preferences can be made. He can choose the drums he like so .. perhaps use another type of the great Pearl Drums? I have 4 Pearl drumkits and i like them! Hardware but also the sound! Especially toms and bass drum.

His hands are always unbelievable, but what caught my attention was his feet. He said he would splash the hats with the double pedal ostinato but I have never seen it.

You can see it in the overhead shot at 4:31... he lays his left foot across the hi-hat pedal and secondary bass drum pedal to play them simultaneously.
