Great amps. Also sounds fantastic for dirty/distorted bass. The mid E.Q. section is a parametric equalizer. The right-hand knob chooses the frequency band to be boosted or cut, the left knob sets the amount of boost/cut applied to that frequency band.

Got a Mark IV for 50 euro's. Broken diode and a new switch replaced and now testing it. Peavey is fine stuff. Underrated if you ask me. Not bad 4 guitar too so more testing now! tx 4 upload!

Sounds like you got a good score for sure. Great amps for the money. I thought about selling this and just to make a few bucks but now I think I'm going to keep it.

I just picked one up for $30. It needed a bit of work, but it was worth it. Peavey's rarely have problems, and when they do, they are easy and cheap to repair. After 45+ years these amps still crush.

@@roncarter2188 I paid $30 for it, but got $50 in it in parts :) It was missing the carry handle and I paid $32 for just that off Ebay. Still less than a buck. It was an easy fix, just a couple of burned out voltage transistors and their resistors. Apparently somebody spilled beer in it years ago and it finally corroded through a leg of one of the transistors and burned out the circuit. Went ahead and did a full recap while I was in there. Got it all cleaned up and it's thumping away bi-amped to my 77 BASS 400 on a 210+115. Should be GTG for the next 45 years.

@tjsogmc Mine is missing the handle as well, must be a Peavey thing.... Glad you got it going. This amp really surprised me, this is a great amp for the money!

I’ve had so many Peavey bass amps and cabs from this era over the years. Solid, loud, dependable, workingman’s gear.

This is the first solid state Peavey Bass amp I've owned and when I heard the sounds you could get through these amps with guitar I jumped at getting this amp.

I bought this amp brand new in 87. It was a 300 watt amp head, this may be an updated model, very flexible. Mid and shift works together. Generally you boost the Mid gain to max and sweep through the frequency control to see where you like it, this is true on bass amplifier of today that have this feature

The footswitch will switch between channels and also combine them. Hard to find, my buddy wired one up for me, adds a lot of versatility. It’s my fave bass amp.

That's cool, I'm going to try and build me one myself. I've got to get myself another bass and try it out on this amp. As far as playing guitar through this amp this amp is awesome and that's an understatement.

You can have a great thunderous tone, then kick in the other channel set to fuzz and you don’t lose any low end. I bought mine in the early 90’s strictly cuz it was cheap and it had lots of knobs. Turns out she’s a thunderous beast, best 125 bucks I spent. 1978 amp still works great.

@@mattbuza8964 Right on. I bought this a couple months back at a pawn shop for $110.00, money well spent!
@mlchaelphelps1158 Жыл бұрын
Added from my previous comments, I also use to biamp this amp due to the fact that it has a biamp section. Peavey made a 210 powered speaker, i ran my highs and hi mids through the powered speaker(it also had a folded horn) and ran my lows through a 1×15 Peavey bass cabinet, it caused me to have a lot of flexibility and control over my sound as a bass player.
