Still going strong the both of them. Never an issue

I did try pre-amp out later and it did work, but it only pushed the Peavey down into the 15" speaker which was not what i was looking for.

Update: Hey for anyone interested this is the tone I am using when playing live with these two amps together. this was a recent outdoor gig kzbin.info/www/bejne/pn2sdZuNnd2tqLc 2:15 shows the amps on stage

that I could slave two different bass amps together without killing either one and gig with them

And do you play with this configuration in a gig or is it for fun ? What do you think about the Rumble ?
@phoenixnj139 жыл бұрын
+Lionel Albert Yes I have even used it on and outdoor gig with great success. The Fender Rumble 100 is the older model and at the time was only available in 100 watt. As soon as I played it I loved the tone, but as the venues got larger we were performing at including outdoor events, I semi retired it for the 200watt Peavey. I had slaved amps together in the past, but same brand name. So the word on the street was it can't be done,so I figured I would try and it works great. I get the lows from the Fender 15" and the mids and high 12" from the Peavey which lacked the lows a 15" can provide. I have used it live since posted this video without issues. larger gigs I go direct out of the peavey and place a microphone on the Fender.

Wouldn't an a/b box be another option?
@phoenixnj138 жыл бұрын
Yes, I believe so, I had read other people using the A/B to do the same thing. I had actually gotten the idea from seeing the band the Misfits bass player slave his Ampeg Svt heads this way. Although his were the same brand and mine weren't and are combos to boot. I am using the slaved combos in the Great divide videos of the outdoor event we performed recently. I have tweaked my live tone a ton since I posted this video experiment. RTS

phoenixnj13 That's cool. I'm thinking of doing the same. Rather than get rid of my Fender 210 combo I would like to get another one (Ampeg if I can afford it) to throw on top and A/B it. This way I would have options depending on the size of the venue ;)
@phoenixnj138 жыл бұрын
I did it because I was missing the low end when I switched to the 12" 200 watt Peavey. I had no problem covering the 70-80 and today stuff, but when we did 50-60 stuff or blues I had little bottom end. That drove my reasoning behind doing this. I now run my pedal board which has a Boss NS-2 Noise Suppressor, a Boss CS-3 Compression and a Bass Driver DI BDI21. Bass Amp Modeler/Direct into the Peavey passive input and I slave the Fender into the active into put. This has worked great in 200-500 crowd rooms alone. But I usually have PA support and I mic the amp and running into a 500 watt powered 15" sub. As always what I bring out to a gig is determine by the size and acoustics of the venue, but it is nice to have the option. RTS

Oh if you do this it is important to check the phase of the amps speakers meaning make sure the speaker is pushing out on both. Out of phase the speaker will suck in. easy to fix if you have a a/b/y switch with a phase switch. I was lucky that mine were in phase had this not been the case I would have had to use a different option a a/a/y switch being one of them.

My Max 112 just stopped working..powers up, but no sound, no hiss whatsoever:( any ideas by chance?
@phoenixnj134 жыл бұрын
Were you pushing it? It has a clipping protection system you can tell by the power light is red instead of the normal blue color
@pikin24 жыл бұрын
stuff thanks for the quick reply. And no, I was not playing loud - I played a song, set it down, came back after dinner and no sound at all, no hum, no hiss. I do not think the speaker is blown though. It powers up, guitar signal passes through the DI to the computer, just no sound. Im also not really a tech, so maybe I'm just missing something obvious. Are there replaceable fuses? I should try to find the wiring diagram online. Just bummed. Have had the 112 for 4years now with absolutely no issues. Anyways, hope youre having a good night. Much love for boston, ma.

I agree bad idea if it wasn't two Class D amps. slaving amps is nothing new it has been happen on the big stages for sometime using A/B switches. I have been using this for gigs off and on since I post the video with no issues with either amp. I never suggested anyone try it. I just posted to see if it could be done because it was I was missing the lows I was getting from the 15" speaker.

PEAVEY BETTER !
@phoenixnj134 жыл бұрын
Is the Peavey better? Not really they are both great sounding amps, but the peavey only had a 12” and Fender Rumble had a 15” but the Peavey is 200 watts so better to get through the live mix with a full band. But the low end the Fender gets from the 15” brings out the warmth. The combination was a win win for me.
