Bought my 1st-run '97 Peavey evh Wolfgang Standard back in early '98 and its still my #1 guitar today, 17 yrs. later...great instrument!!

I always wondered why in my Wolfgang the bridge pickup is quieter than the neck pickup so I took it out today and only one coil is working lol . Guess what? It came like that checked in the factory? Mmm these things happen I guess. Anyway it's number 553 off the line and,I have to laugh,I've never had a bad sound gigging it even though the bridge pickup is essentially a single coil all these years ....so time to get it repaired. Still my favourite of the Van Halen crop from all the manufacturers and I've played them all from Music Man to the new EVH models. Great tour by the way.

Interesting. I just got an amber hard tail (98-99?) in a trade and the bridge had one bad coil. I sent it to Fralin for repair. Sounds great now.

@JohnHorak98 I've still to have mine rewound but for now there's an old dimarzio pickup from the 70's in there for kicks... it does sound nice lol

I had a purple Wolfgang with a stop tail in the 90's. Why oh why did I ever trade it away ?

I was extremely disappointed when Peavey stopped making guitars in the USA, Wolfgangs and the later HP Specials are amazing guitars, as well as the older USA made Vendenbergs if you can find one..buy it!

This pisses me off. I want my Special Deluxe to be fixed. My favorite guitar I've ever owned.The truss rod won't stay tight. They can just type in numbers and make me a new neck.

ANDRES DELGADO The HP is no longer made either. It had a short run I think.

The COO says the majority of peavey customer care less if it is made in the USA or not, so affordable products are what peavey concentrates on these days and on top of that HP is ready to retire and start is bucket list, all but one of the factories have closed the doors for good, That sucks!
