I've included these in my baked Christmas cookie assortments even though it's not actually a cookie. These are always a hit. On a side note, if you mix the nuts in the filling, they will sink to the bottom of the tartlets. They'll still taste delicious, but not as aesthetically pleasing. They're perfect in bitesize portions because they're as rich and decandant as candy. Buttery, flaky, sweet, and nutty.

Last time I made these tassies, I experimented by using a shortbread pie crust. They were delicious with some vanilla ice cream. Ice cream was the reason for using a different crust. And now looking for pecan recipes, I can't decide what to make. These just made it to the top of my list! Wish I had cream cheese to make them now because I want them now!

I was so amazed by this recipe. I've never made a crust this way, but it goes perfectly well with the sweet filling. This is a high success rate recipe

I use a similar recipe. I mix the chopped nuts right in the goo mixture and I use a little ice cream scoop to portion it out to each cup. I also do the crusts by pressing dough balls up the sides. I think it's quicker. :) I have 2 batches to make.
@lolaottinger69763 жыл бұрын
I call it goo mixture too, I plan on making a pecan goo to go on top of my unrolled pumpkin log, and then use the cream cheese frosting on the outside. I got a recipe out of one of those Pillsbury cookbooks sold near the check stands at Target, the recipe calls for a goo with a little citrus and golden raisins, which is delicious, but just decided I wanted to switch it up a little.

Thank you very much for giving metric measures as well as cup sizes, it's makes a great difference to those of us who are from other countries (UK in my case) who are confused by the cup system, for example 1 cup flour weighs more than 1 cup of sugar. I have yet to try these but they look very yummy!

The same dough can be used to make a wide variety of tassies. I like lemon curd, lime curd, raspberry or cherry jam, or almost any pie filling (run it through the food processor if it has big pieces of fruit like apple).

Made these a few days ago..great recipe, especially with the cream cheese in the dough! The dough has to be thin in the baking cups as it does expand. Also make sure it doesn't go above the rim, unless you want it to cup out. Will diff make these two bite teasers again!

My daughter in law found a cream cheese pie crust recipe on line, the one thing it said was that it didn’t work well if you were going to cook it before filling, but worked fine for any filling that went into the unbaked shell. It was a delicious crust. I unfortunately don’t have the recipe.

Joy, thanks for the well articulated directions and TIPS. I used a "restaurant style ketchup squirt bottle" to fill my pastry cups to save time - works well. My other tip...after quartering the pastry and refrigerating, you may not have an exact quarter and may roll out an inadequate amount of dough...be ready to break off a piece from another part . AND, don't roll out pastry and throw any away... put the leftover back with a portion in the fridge, as the amount of pastry dough can run tight. LOVE YA....
