Love Dents! I grabbed a pair of their leather fleece lined gloves in the Christmas sale, only £23 instead of about £70 and they’re the best pair I’ve ever owned. Can highly recommend their scarfs too, can often be found in TK Maxx on sale for a few £s.

I remember your video of your visit to the factory, that was a very nice video to watch. I had to look up peccary leather, but it looks like it's the perfect leather for gloves. I feel glove leather should be very supple yet very durable. Most of the time, those two traits don't go well together. A tip for people who find the peccary gloves too expensive, there are other leather types that have (to a degree) the same qualities as the peccary. For example, deer, elk and reindeer leather are also very durable, yet very supple types of leather. I have had a pair of Hestra gloves in elk leather for two years now and apart from the discoloration (I have a yellow pair, much like the ones Ash is holding) they still flawless. The only thing you have to do to keep them in tip top order is to treat them with some transparant, odorless shoe polish. Specially the knuckles (the leather that stretches the most) can dry out. Maybe Ash can do a video on maintenance of leather items? We've seem shoe maintenance, but what about gloves and jackets? Anyway, to everyone, have a great day!

I have 2 pairs of Dents gloves, both classic driving inspired, one is the style where the knuckles are cut out in tan, they are very thin soft leather and the other is dark brown leather but with a light tan sheeps wool woven top just on the topside, making them perfect for the winter. Both are quality, classy and brilliant (just wish I had the E-Type with the wooden steering wheel to do them justice ;)

I'm currently shopping for a pair of quality lined leather gloves, either in brown or cognac, that will keep my hands warm during my morning winter walk here in southern Ontario, Canada. While the Peccary gloves you profile here are several levels above my pay grade, it's great to be enlightened as to what is available on the market, and what constitutes a high-end bit of sartorial flare for one's hands.

As I head out this morning I will now feel under dressed! Peccary gloves definitely 'on the list'. My discovery of quality gloves started with some USA made motorcycling gloves then Chester Jeffries (sadly ceased trading ) gloves. Shame that many UK manufacturers have ceased production but encouraging Dents still retain some production here. I have nothing against moving production abroad but in my experience quality can take a dive. Foe example, my knock about boot choices were Dr Martens then Blundstone. They are still iconic products but in my opinion the quality does not match the originals.

It seems more and more companies have figured out how to meet customer needs in this modern age. I just purchased a watch manufactured in Germany and to meet a broader variety of customer wants, they have a 'Pro' line that retains certain traditional product components and features while a standard line sources components from a broader and more affordable set of suppliers. I like when companies offer choice.

Ash, I had a pair of peccary gloves when I was in high school and into my twenties. They were unlined but very comfortable. They got lost somehow in the mini move so I made and I really miss them. Funny thing is I was just thinking about them yesterday I need to another pair and then you make a video what's the odds. You're looking pretty dashing with that peacoat white cap. I have a pair of unlined peccary gloves from Dents as well as several other pairs from them! I also have a very nice wallet and flask. The quality is excellent. Some of my gloves are more than 10 years old and they are just about broken in. You can't go far wrong with Dents! I also like to wear corgi socks and order them online. Would it be possible to do another video on unlined white and grey leather gloves for white tie and morning wear? On which formal occasions would it be suitable or not? Can a chap wear white gloves with black tie as well?

Another great video Ash thank you, now I am with you on the very formal traditional wear and the deep dive on heritage clothing brands you have already done, Barbour, Loake etc, beautiful pieces but not practical for every occasion. Would it be your style to do a take on a review of more casual British heritage brands Grenfell (jackets), Baracuta, even Fred Perry made in England, which I think is the best polo shirt ive ever worn, much better than Sunspel? I was only asking when it comes to wearing jeans how you feel about untucked shirts occasionally? Obviously if I'm wearing a sweater or sport coat even both then the shirt will still be tucked in. When one is a motorcycle enthusiast ,one requires a more robust type of glove known as a gauntlet . When I am not riding my metal steeds ,& in more formal attire ,one wears black leather military patrol gloves ,acquired curtesy of the MOD ex issue . One could not be seen wearing such light short gloves ,in my circles ,the chaps would think I had decided to bat for the other team . 👍

I have several unlined gloves grom Dents but sadly not my peccary gloves. My peccaries are unlined and In my opinion they are *almost* too warm for an unlined glove. I've worn them on snowy days and felt not the least cold in any way. Given that I'm mostly living and working in a fairly urbanzid region I very rarely feel the need to wear lined gloves and honestly don't like wearing them. I wear mostly unlined gloves from autumn into early spring also based on pure vanity since they look (mostly) way more elegant than lined. Here's a little Trick I learned working with (leather) shoes: buy youth elegant unlined gloves in half a size smaller and use moderate amounts of leather softener (sold by most shoe makers and producers) in several areas (across the knuckles e.g. for driving gloves, often between the fingers... ) put on while wet and wiggle the hand a bit, some (light!) pulling, let dry a couple of minutes and voila! Wonderful video as always, Ash. If I ever visit London, I'll end up coming homing as penny-less as I will be stylish. And I'll have to it feels like. Which leads into a question I have. If one has never bought a suit before and doesn't know his sizing/how a suit should fit, would it be best to wait until I can get into a "real" suit store (I put real in quotes because the only store is Men's Wearhouse which imho doesn't really count when their product pages clearly don't know what they are talking about and selling almost exclusively polyester suits), or would getting my measurements taken by the local seamstress next (first) time I go to get a shirt/trouser adjusted be the better course of action to then buy online from a reputable seller?

I would recommend having your sizes professionally taken (local tailor/seamstress) , it would be well worth the fee for a half-hour consultation session and a proper discussion about your preferences for wear (baggy trousers, tight jacket, etc). Alternatively, if you are going to buy higher-end garments, many outlets offer an alteration service as part of the buying experience.

Are you prepared to consider creating a post to discuss the following topic: 'Should a gent in 2023 still be purchasing/wearing clothes using animal hides?' Furs are no longer seen as 'animal-friendly' and the public generally has stopped purchasing/wearing them. I personally love finely crafted leather goods and my home furnishings, shoes, and clothes reflect this however, we are seeing more and more companies offering non animal skin alternatives. I would be interested in your perspective.
