I was asked how much would the HGLW loco, which I bought secondhand and modified, pull. At the time, I had no idea. I've now fitted couplings and given it a load test - basically attaching more and more wagons until the wheels just started slipping. It just about managed 13 LGB skip wagons and a brake van on the flat. This is more than I really need for a shunting loco which will potter about the sand quarry sidings. If I could squeeze in more weight it would undoubtedly pull more. Peckforton Light Railway is a 45mm gauge garden model railway depicting what I have imagined to be a three-foot narrow gauge railway which might have been constructed to serve the copper mines and local communities along the Peckforton Hills in Cheshire, UK.
