Peckinpah's JUNIOR BONNER - the story behind ARIZONA MORNING Steve McQueen

In 1971 writer Jeb Rosebrook wrote the superb screenplay JUNIOR BONNER, which Sam Peckinpah only months later made into one of his best films, starring Steve McQueen, Robert Preston, Ida Lupino and Ben Johnson. The theatrical version featured a wonderful song, Rod Hart's ARIZONA MORNING, which sadly was replaced in later years... In this little featurette Jeb tells the story... (I produced it for the new Kino Lorber US Blu-ray / DVD of JUNIOR BONNER, but it was ommitted due to legal issues...) - IN MEMORY OF JEB ROSEBROOK, who left us, August 31, 2018.

Thank you for this interview. I first saw a TV print of "Junior Bonner" on WGN-TV in the 1980s, with "Arizona Morning" as the opening song. I love the original film and TV print version of "Junior Bonner" and always wondered why home video releases went with the other song.

Is is possible that Mr. Rosebrook is mistaken? The singing credit for Bound to Be Back Again is Alex Taylor, James' and Livingston's brother. Or was Livingston supposed to sing Arizona Morning?

I think he just got confused as to which Taylor brother was involved. Both Livingston and Alex put out records on Capricorn.
