(For example: Elizabeth Fry, the prison reformer; she used to be on the back of an old £5 banknote, I think - unless that's a false memory...) We have often thought of staying in the National Trust holiday lets alongside the garden. We have only been in here once but as you show it is a wonderful Georgian home. We like its location alongside the river surrounded by other Georgian properties. The gardens are a surprise. The Stables accommodation includes a key to enjoy the gardens out of hours. Good Ivor and Robert yes the location along the river is really stunning. Peckover is a really well balanced property with a garden that is do in keeping with the feel of the house. Great Tour of Peckover House and Gardens. Some of the Grand Old Houses use to have Orangery where they keep Orange Trees in big pots and take them outside for the Summer months and returning them back inside under glass for the colder months❤

Hi the details seem a little sketchy but we believe that by the end of the 19th century the family no longer needed such a big house and so it was mothballed and the contents auctioned off. Then in the 1940s handed to the NT. Hope you are well and having a great week Best wishes Dave and Dawn ❤️
