Just a heads up, the blue eyed ricerish are a different species from the medaka ricefish; the blue eye ones need tropical temps! That is probably why they got ich. Great vid!

Great vid, really enjoyed it. I’d be interested to hear about your various fish in future vids. Typically you focus on tank operations and plants (which is great), so some vids on your various species would be nice, like your checkerboards (I think I remember you had/have some?). I don't watch to many fish videos anymore, but am still subscribed to your channel. It was fun to see what you have. Last time I viewed you had large fish in your biggest tank. I do still have large fish; and community tanks. I had a 125 until it started leaking. Switched it out to a 90, but I am still planning on getting a 120 which has a partially built in sump. I use a tank underneath with a filter sock. The sump just has lava rock and a pump to get the water back up. Anyway, I have strayed from fish to houseplants which are easier and cheaper. No fish food to purchase; and I use the old tank water for the plants. Loved seeing the older tanks. I keep mine going until they go out the door for whatever reason.

Maybe I missed it but are you still using anoxic filtration in any tanks?

@@icarlsw34 the 42 is the closest to that style. The flora also. The 210 has under gravels but I don’t have anything drawing from it. Oh and the 25 Hydra has an under gravel too. So it’s fair to say in some regards I’ve had luck with the plenum / cat litter elements so far. I do always include plants and other filtration as well. For some that messes up the experiment. I like to take many small steps to filter in different ways with hopes it will be more resilient.
