I love your channel!!!! Your RV is charging the rig batteries through the Converter. You have to turn off the RV converter breaker when using a solar generator.

I bought this a few weeks ago. The lack of ups isn’t an issue, I’d like to install a transfer switch and primarily use this as a backup when needed. Thought about just running the fridge all the time with it, since it does pass through charging. Great review

@@donaldricher8815 I’ve only used it a few times to op check it. The brick can be loud when it spools up, but nothing crazy. I had it run my fridge for a while, didn’t really notice anything.

A "regular UPS" is plugged in and a load attached. When the AC power fails, the UPS powers your stuff - usually for 10 to 30 minutes depending on the capacity and load.... This unit, the E2000LFP when plugged in via the charger, is "ON" all the time - powering your stuff - with a huge capacity. When the AC fails, the Pecron continues to power your stuff - FOR MANY HOURS.... SO, the Pecron is really running as a UPS.... I fail to see why some people say it does not have a UPS function, when in fact, it does and the runtime is very much greater than a "regular" UPS....

I am thrilled with my first day of testing/using my new E2000LFP.... First Test Results: After a FULL 100% charge and waiting for the power brick to turn off, (it took ~30-40 minutes), and then applying a 315 Watt load and letting the Pecron shut down at 5 hours 52 minutes.... Watt Meter ONE = 1790 reported WH = 93.2% Watt Meter TWO = 1814 reported WH = 94.5% I would have been happy with anything near 90% conversion efficiency, but, even with the more stingy meter I received a 93.2% efficiency. Now, the last 1% to drain took damn near 20 minutes before the unit shut down, and as I am not to be using this Solar Generator to this extreme all the time, I believe it was important to "condition" not only the battery cells, but to also "calibrate" the BMS to know/learn how the cells performed.... I am now charging - one more time to 100% - and then going to power my refer overnight as that use will be the main reason I bought the Pecron. This overnight refer run will use maybe 40-50% which will be at a good level for storage. When the next hurricane approaches I'll only be a couple of hours at most to top off before a storm hits. If this unit holds up as well as how it performed today, I will have made a good decision to buy this unit....

Thanks for the encouragement. It really depends on what you want to be able to do with it. The E200LFP has the right battery (LiFePO4), a very capable inverter, and decent solar input options. It's limitations are, charging with an external power supply, and no UPS function. I've considered doing a video comparing some of the options on the market and why you might choose one over the other, but I haven't had the time yet.

Yes, you can charge and discharge at the same time. However, it does not have a true UPS mode with passthrough power.

More Than Expandable: E2000LFP can be expanded up to 8kWh with two EB3000 batteries; Bidirectional flow between the expansion battery and main unit allows you to charge the whole system from either side or both at the same time; Features 600W MPPT input port and USB, cigarette lighter and XT60(up to 30A) output ports make EB3000 itself an excellent back up battery.

I actually did take video on the install and running of the stove, however, my construction videos don't perform well enough to warrant the time I take to make them so I haven't been making them lately. It's a Vermont Castings stove, it burns great! I have had some backdraft issues on windy days, so I think I need to extend my chimney a little further.

To supplement your testing info, current units - July 25, 2023, have been improved as to the AC voltage output. As a new owner who is performing capacity tests, my single cup drip coffee maker draws about 1225 Watts/10 Amps with the voltage holding up nicely at 120VAC.... Some viewers may frown on your earlier produced unit that was only outputting 108 VAC or so and it seems that as really good this unit was 8-10 months ago, Pecron IS fine tuning the current units shipping to perform better. I like that.... 🙂

I dont see the point of these things unless they had charging backup like solar. If it can only run a few things in a house for a hour what is the use of it. I have a 3kW sine wave petrol generator for £250, runs until it wears out.

@@ProjectsWithDave I'm glad to help.... I am prone to "catch" the technical details as a retired KSC Engineer, I had to be "on top" of ALL the design - testing specifications that were necessary for space flight vehicles.... My box JUST arrived and so far it looks pretty good. IMPORTANT NOTE: The charging brick instructions states specifically - "Plug the charger in FIRST - THEN connect to the Pecron".... (EDIT: After full-100%, the charger will run ~ 30-40 minutes, with the wattage cycling high/low, then it will SHUT ITSELF OFF - WAIT FOR IT.... Then, UNPLUG THE AC FIRST - THEN UNPLUG THE PECRON.... Yea, I did read the instructions FIRST as I did not want to cause any problems that were "Idiot induced"... 🙂P.S. My unit outputs 124 VAC while some earlier units tested at a bit lower 110VAC. The frequency is fairly close measuring ~ 59.8 Hz.... Now completing its first charge that reported 66% upon delivery. After the charger stops, I plan on running/loading at about 315 Watts down to 0%, for a FULL charge cycle to give the BMS a 0-100% cycle. Then charge to 100% - and testing my refer for overnight consumption. I believe this one/two charging cycles will help ensure the BMS has done it's job with equalizing the cells before hitting it with a higher load.... Just my thoughts....
@ProjectsWithDave
@ProjectsWithDave Жыл бұрын
I heard the newer units were achieving 120V, that's good to here. Some people don't realize the cells can get out of balance if you never fully charge the unit. It shouldn't take more than one full charging cycle to balance the cells.
