Awesome Video! Perfect timing as I've been researching for the best full face helmet and I love the Kali (XL) design and I was very happy to see it on your list of selections with the pros and cons! I think it's well suited for my style, I'm mostly XC riding with my Trek Fuel Ex 8 in Arizona, but I'm certainly becoming more aggressive in my riding and enjoying the speed of going downhill... This is a great start to see this episode on Loam Wolf with very helpful and excellent informative details from professional riders opinions! Thanks 👍 and looking forward to knowing when the winner will be announced!!!! Wish me luck 🤞

I'll take a double D-ring strap over FidLock on a full face any day of the week! So much easier to get on/off and adjust a DD.! You guys really need to learn how to use DD! Fidlock always slips and has to be readjusted which is really annoying. DD gets set and stays, its also a lot faster to get on and off compared to FidLock, just pull the release-strap until the button on the end of the strap, hold the strap with the thumbs against the chin guard as you pull the helmet off. to put the helmet on, hold the strap with your thumbs at the chin guard, put the helmet on, pull on the strap to secure. Done! No fiddeling or readjusting! Yes, Fidlock is to put on, but it's allways a lot of fiddeling around to get the strap the right length and the lock itself always gets into the middle of the throat which is annoying (DD stays on the side) and if you ride with a jacket with a zipper, the magnet connects to the zipper. Aaaargh! Extra rubber bands and stuff doesn't prevent adjustment sag on FidLock ieither and makes adjusting even more fiddely! (Yes, I have helmets with both closure systems)

I’m curious why head shape (round vs. oval) isn’t generally recognized with MTB helmets. That’s a huge factor for overall fit and comfort with a helmet.

Our family tried downhill for the first time this year.... in our trail helmets. We’ve been looking into what we want for full face ever since. This video was really helpful as the proframe and trigger are helmets that we are interested in. Our 5 year old son wears a full face helmet almost exclusively just because he “thinks it’s cool” which is fine by us.

Coming from motorcycle world, Double D loop is one of the best things for adjust ability where you easily lose focus if something doesn't fit perfectly. The only issue is if you crash, it can be harder to remove, this is my only concern!

Was recently in a pretty bad accident that made me aware of how ridiculously vulnerable and exposed our faces are when riding on pretty much any style bike. Appreciate the review and looking forward to the expanding market of full face helmets. Think the direction Kali is heading in could be a great option for multiple situations including commuting, but definitely would need something more like smith for trail and DH. Thx again for the information.

I currently own the 7IDP Project 23. Great helmet, great fit (size M). I took a very hard digger over the bars while riding pikes peak, and this helmet absolutely did it’s job the way it’s supposed to. I cracked the helmet on a hard rock surface. I reached out to 7IDP about my helmet. They offer a crash replacement program so long as you send your old one back. Great customer service and prompt. Being this company is based out of Aurora, Colorado and I’m a Colorado native I always gotta show love to local business! If you have any doubts about a helmet go with a 7IDP! Exceptional!

I have a young daughter with a big head. I chose the IXS trigger and the Kali Invader 2.0 bc it's 2 of the lightest and most ventilation. The Kali has more ventilation than the IXS, and feels lighter. The IXS does feel sturdier but the padding is thicker thus harder to put on and slightly warmer. I really like the quality of the IXS, but the Kali is the go to helmet 80% of the time.

had a very close call after my front end washed out (bloody lip and gravel in my mouth - thought I knocked a tooth out for a minute). Actually getting some unrelated dental work done next week so that minor crash was a wake-up call. REI still carries the Smith Mainline - I don't mind the D-rings at all. In fact I prefer it. Have put on 20k+ miles commuting on my motorcycle over the last 3 years -- D-rings are the most secure.

I decided on the 8th of October that I need a full face helmet. Right after I had my front wheel slipped out, mid high speed corner when I rolled over a painted line. I poked a hole through my lip with the tooth I broke, fractured my jaw, gave myself a decent amount of road rash, some temporary memory loss, misaligned my neck, and mechanically tore my calf muscle with a pedal. Turns out it's not a plesant thing to whip your face into the ground then slide a foot or two with adequit pressure. Destroyed the only pair of Oakley sunglasses I will ever own, as I am now disabled from a serious car wreck 20 years ago, but I'm glad it was them and not my eyeball. Helmets are important if your gonna be wild. Especially when you've got a big melon like me haha. Thanks for the vid, I was in the market for one. Cheers

I tried the Kali Invader, but for some reason it just did not fit my noggin very well. Tried 2 sizes and all the padding. Ended up getting the Fox Pro Frame which has been great. Comfortable, no issues wearing it on 3000+ft climbs as it vents well. I personally have no issues with the fixed visor, but then again I never mess with mine (on any helmet) and mostly do not ever wear goggles.

I started wearing a MET Parachute full face helmet for trail/XC. Biggest issue I have with it is exhaling while moving at an XC pace and it is a little hot above 80F. When you exhale at low speeds the hot air blows back in your face giving a heating suffocating feeling, but I may give the KALI a try. Airway looks a little more open and may work a little better.
