The key with these is to keep the Level equal; pedal on volume is the same as pedal off volume. So, around 11 o'clock. This lets the pass filters do their magic. Second, it's good to set your amp eq to 3 o'clock on all frequencies. This gives the pedal some headroom so your amp isn't choking it out sonically.

The DOD trick is to use a 10 volt adapter instead of 9v. Its even written on the back and the inside. Variable voltage adapters are for sale on the internet.

There was a moment where you had it sounding vert Rat like. Honestly, it is a pretty great distortion with a clean amp and an okay HM2 substitute, though it sounds more like a dimed DS1 with "chainsaw" settings. The Master of Puppets moment was pretty close.

Always wanted to hawe one of these. But I`ve got another beast - DOD FX 55C. If you happen to run across one - try for yourself. Guess it`s ice-cold highs well worth your attention.
