Longtime vr4 owner. Get a metric set of racheting flat end wrenches and lot of extensions and youll be fine. There are only 2 types of owners of these cars. Neglectful ones and mad scientist types. Such as Z32TT fellas can probably agree with the fact that if you like the car you know what youre signing up.

The 90s was such a wild time for tech. 4 Wheel steering is genuinely one of the funniest and scariest things to have.

Many moons ago in the late '90's I spent quite a bit of time with a 1990 Honda Prelude Si with 4 wheel steering. I found it to be glorious honestly!!

So I found my active aero didn't work no one could help both front and back motors fine no power to the box in the boot so found that only one 30amp wire runs to the back power box from the fuse box upfront in the engine bay wire was shot somware by the passenger wing just by the intercooler were the loom runs to the back just thinking it might help you as it helped me fixed thr problem just running a new wire from the front fuse box to the passenger wing were it lost connection 😀

Interesting! Thats a problem for the spring once I can lie down on the floor and not in a puddle to check the front. The rear might be a job for a dry... but probably cold day over the winter. At least it's fairly easy to remove and take indoors

The NA version will do at least 130MPH on the Autobahn. The 4 wheel steering is also a hoot!

I'll have you know it was 160 on the speedo, 145 GPS. Interestingly the TT didn't seem to have a lot more top end, but it is very much a beast on the 0-60

@johnsullivan937 Жыл бұрын
Yeah.. beware if you are just now getting into cars. The vast majority of cars that were ultra expensive when new, and are now dirt cheap are that way for a reason. Common reasons typically being either high cost of replacement parts, difficulty to work on, or reliability issues. Shake away that feeling of thinking you've stumbled across some unknown gem in the car world thats an amazing bargain and nobody knows about. Thats usually not the case. It just means people tend to not own the car very long before giving up on it. With the mitsubishi gto there's a reason why its like dirt cheap compared to evo 7's and 8's, yet is more advanced technology wise. The v6TT is notorious for being very difficult to work on, stuffed away in cramped engine bay. Most guys I've seen that own one and took the time/effort to do a full on rebuilt, taking it back to full strength, are so afraid of something else breaking that they just stick to cruising around town almost never giving it full throttle or revving it out.
@PedalBox Жыл бұрын
There is absolutely a deep sense of "I hope I don't need to go deep into the engine" because there is NO room. Everything is "might as well drop the engine" which i'm sure is a nightmare as well, but probably less frustrating. The Evo has a lot of hype form rally, so it's well in the minds of people and has the hype-tax. If you've got time, space, small hands and aren't afraid to learn a lot very quickly through mistakes a GTO is great. Often case, people get rid of problems cheap!

How can you say that the latest model didn't have abs? Where did you got this information. This car is having 1800kilos For your information you can't stop this car without abs.
@PedalBox5 ай бұрын
This one doesn't have ABS. I know because the ABS pump is in the shed, in a bag instead of under the bonnet. The GTO MR did not have ABS, nor does it have the active aero, active suspension or 4WS system. This is all pretty well documented, and all of those items removed roughly 40 kilos from the 1800kg mass of the car. Not a huge difference.
@darionerat36715 ай бұрын
@PedalBox my friend, warm advice put back abs so you will not turt yourself. And abs is under the right front fender where the bumper meets fender. Once, when this car starts to lose traction and the grip abs makes miracles there. Trust my words i have been there.

I wanted to inform you that this car without abs is dangerous,l. It is up to you how you are going to accept that info
@PedalBox5 ай бұрын
I'd hardly call it dangerous. If it were, the actual GTO MR would never have been made without ABS. But it was. Is it something a driver should be aware of, given this car DID have it before? Sure, Absolutely.
