Moving gamefowl chicks from incubator to brooder

I had 3 chicks hatch 2 days ago and its time to move them to the brooder and look at where we moved some roosters to where they can have shade this summer

That chickens probably got a bad shoulder because he’s been fighting off all the predators, he’s obviously in charge of ranch security

I thought he was gonna die on 2 different occasions but he healed up. I put some nu stock ointment on that wing and next week ill put some plantain salve

I bet that grinder made a lot of sausage in its day I like feeding my blue faced hatch mcreas snd sweater 20k Kelso the non gmo chic starter and dried mill worms for late evening snack

I havnt yet but i did see a chicken snake in the garden other day. I let him go he was headed to the woods

I think that old tool is a wheat grinder to make flour

It doesnt grind corn fine enough for meal as a whole but some fine does come out. I may run some wheat through it to see what it does.

Old thing looks like an old grinder l cant see it. Is there any writing on it? I really enjoy learning about chickens. I had a few pet chickens when l was a young one.l would take care of my neighbors chickens when they left town. I want my 38 year old son to learn all he can about raising chickens. He had one that just appeared and his yard. He would keep it in a shed at night and it laid eggs. I told him to trim feathers on wings back a little or one day it may fly right back over the 7 ft. Fence it came in at and 2 years later it did. Going to watch all chicken videos we can. Are you in kentucky? He is looking to buy 4 or 5 chicks.

@@SpiritoftheOutdoors they used to have good sized ones at stores for grinding good sides amounts fast,I saw one at a garage sale that was converted to use an electric motor I think they were originally hand cranked

@@markzimmerman7279 makes a lot of sense. Her papaw used to bring home any junk he thought he could reuse and went to yard sales so no telling where he got it but he ground chicken feed with it i know

Justin I enjoy your videos, I respect that you know so much about farm living. Is there anyway to make those cages bigger for the roosters, I feel bad for them

It is but cost a lot more. This is part of the reason im down to 6-7 roosters i only keep backups for my breeds.

Lol that's what game roosters go in they are called jump pens and they're easy to move to keep them in fresh grass so they don't get wormy I've got about 150 of them lol
