If you ever sell the boat these videos will probably increase the value by quite a bit. It will probably be the last Bayliner on the water. 👍👍

I have the 2000 Bayliner Capri 1952, and I also had the soft spot above the fuel tank. I cut it out and installed my marine plywood that I encapsulated with fiberglass. Fit like a glove. Now I an finding the same soft spots as you found, but not in the front or under the seats. This winter I am going to gut it like you did and install a new floor from behind the seats to the aft battery boxes. I like what you did with the floor, but I am not a captain's chair fan, so i am going to leave the fold-down seats. Excellent videos. Kepp up the good work.

Theorizing that if the Bayliner factory had been this "nitpicky", your very good work may not have been necessary. No matter, I really enjoy learning how it is done!

Learning on the fly. Love it. If you wanted to fill small voids like that with more control you could use the spray foam that comes in a can. Meant for filling voids around door and window jams in a house. It fills small voids with more control and precision and then your other foam batch would just fill up to it. But I am sure you will do just fine with your current plan and design. Love the video series. Thanks again for sharing and being creative and willing to try cool projects. This stuff is inspiring to others and empowers people to be resourceful and repair things themselves. Love it.

Appreciate you showing all these steps. Interesting to watch. And like yourself, I'm very detailed also. I def can relate to how important it is to take your time, measure twice cut once.. etc etc. And in the end it's going to be a solid finished product. Looking forward to the next step.

I'm wondering why didn't you use Composite PVC as you did for the johnboat. You would have avoided the effort and cost of applying the fiber glass.

Great job! I am actually looking at the same bayliner for sale around here that needs the same thing done, so your videos are a great help in planning. I would attach the sandwiched reinforcement to the box then drill holes all the way through and use t-nuts and bolts to attach the pedestal. That way they are more secure and can be taken off later.

That looks GREAT Kurt now if they would have only put this much effort into it when they built it. I can't wait to see how it turns out.
