Nice work M8. Very inspiring, I want to get rid of the noise of my converters.

Hello Phil, Nicely done... I must admit all this electrickery is a real weakness on my part... Good to see you have another machine up and running. Take care. Paul,,

Hi, yeah, handy to have a heavy duty grinder up and running. My current one was a cheap 6" bench top. My priority now is getting the Rapidor power saw running..

Hi, many thanks. Yes you sent some stickers back with the baby vice project. I'd like to get involved with another project like that again. It was great fun. All the best, Phil

Yes - a quick way to kill a VFD is to install a switch between its output and the load. They really have to be used either with the tact switches on the front of the VFD, or with some buttons wired in to the terminals on the back of the VFD. That'll work perfectly. I reckon hiding the VFD away in the box below, with the motor, and just providing the green go and the red E stop would look nice and original. Looks like a really heavy duty unit. Nice conversion! (I too have single phase and like using VFDs for three phase conversion).

Thanks for the feedback. Yeah the grinder is very "stout" and weighs a fair bit..

I don't really see the need to install the two buttons. I think I should use it as is. Or maybe just some big imergency stop button...

Hi, yes, very true.. I may just add an isolator switch and be done with it..

Is the Motor insulation rated for vfd use? I believe it is class F or H
