Unfortunately there are an awful lot of people around who take stuff apart and really don’t know what they do. It gives me nightmares to think about all the beautiful machines that are lost that way! Thank you for putting in the effort and bring them alive again!!!

In order to capture a smaller displacement. Just buy a 1um glass scale. In order to find the real zero and 5um transition point of the glass scale, just adjust the potentiometer so that the comparator IC will trigger right at the crossover point. But then, this is quite pointless. As our machine cannot reach that precision. In terms of accuracy, most machines couldn't even 0.001" (0.025mm or 25um) precision. The machine's resolution is 0.001", and resolution is not the same as accuracy.

It looks really cool in battleship grey. The great thing is you can touch up the matt army paints very easily. I did my army 109 on bare metal with a spray gun and got a dozen spray cans made up for touching up. Nice work!

So if you stopped at 5:32 , would this essentially just be a running board-delete? Would you be able to still put the skirt on without those brackets being there?

Yes you can remove the side steps completely and re-fit the plastic side trims just make sure you save some of the plastic plugs you removed and personally id put the bolts back in underneath with penny washers incase you decide to have new steps or sliders in the future.

Would it be possible to use an Arduino to sum 2 linear scales and transmit the combined signal to the DRO ?
@mtraven23 Жыл бұрын
so I used your video a year ago for the first time, now I gotta do it again & forgot how! lol. thanks again! I'm curious, was your scale advertised to have a home position? Both of mine were said to have a Z channel to home to, and the wire is there for it in the tether, but I spent days trying to clock a signal on that line before giving up. All the IC's you showed, are potted on version. I can take the lid off, but its just a block of black and I'm not gonna dig into a working scale. If my electronics are like yours, as I suspect they are, its quite clear that 3rd channel doesn't exist. one other question, is there anything in those electronics that would suggest running at 3.3v would be a problem? I've test it on mine, it seems to work fine...but I might not notice a small error, the sort that being under powered might produced. I'm trying to run the whole thing on a 3.7v battery with a 3.3v MC, its a whole lot simpler if I dont need to send 5v to the scale.

How fascinating. People were much cleverer 100 years ago.There were no electronics to operate these engines, only engineuity (pun intended). One of the smallest engines made is a CO2 engine, 1 cubic milimeter capacity by Gasparin of eastern Europe. The piston is is as small as a pin head. I have a model diesel (compression ignition) engine of 0.05 cc, that is 1/20th of a cubic centimeter made by Rudolf Valentine of Germany. No doubt extreme precision is required during manufacture to justify the cost. Thanks for posting mate.

Hi, I would like to connect my 540 to VFD too. I run it off a Transwave converter, is there any problems to change to a VFD ie, two motors from one VFD and are the motors in delta which the instructions say. thank you Patrick
@m0xya Жыл бұрын
Hi, my current setup uses a single VFD, however, I run into issues with the contactors tripping it into an error. My plan is to use two smaller VFDs, one for each motor. Then remove the contactors and drive them directly and use the VFD start/stop functions.
@patrickdarcy3863 Жыл бұрын
@m0xya thank you for your replay. My other machine motors had to be changed from star to delta maybe that's what you need.

How do those numbers translate into centimeters? For example, if you move it a total value of 5,729 as shown in your video when you move it, how many then make a centimeter? Is it possible to figure that out?

You Sir are entitled to buy your vehicle back from the insurance company , then have it taken to a Landrover Nut , who will do a PROPER repair , then it will need an engineers report , then a NEW MOT, if you love your vehicle enough get it done , MY ADVICE IS DONT TAKE IT TO A DEALERSHIP AS THEY WILL RIP YOU OFF FOR THE REBUILD OF THIS DAMAGE .

The first engine is incredibly unique. I've never seen that mechanism for making the piston rod move straight. I'm gonna have to copy it for myself.
