The end when you showed the elevation difference was epic. +7ft! And you didn’t even embellish by using meters (hams at the local club give me a hard time about meters in when sharing about my long distance VHF+ contacts)

Last time I was pedestrian mobile was with a PRC-25 and I said things like “24 FIRE MISSION over” and “Drop 50 fire for effect “. I loved being artillery but was glad I didn’t have to carry those things after flight school.

Excellent job ! I’m hoping to be on the air very soon. I’ll also be doing mostly QRP. I live in an apartment building on the twelfth floor. It has its challenges but I’ll figure things out. I’ve been putting together a QRP rig. I have just about everything that I’ll need to be either pedestrian manpak or remote broadcast. Thank you for sharing this video. It gives those of us who are just starting out a confidence mode to pursue. Regards from Toronto Canada 🇨🇦

This is a terrific video, excellent editing to show both operators during the QSO. I’m putting together a portable /PM station to take along on hikes/camping trips with my two kids who are interested in ham radio/outdoor fun. What power source were you using? Jeff, KF5KWO, Texas
@hamradioqrp-k0klb2 жыл бұрын
Hi Jeff.. Thanks for stopping by and commenting.. That sounds like great fun for the kids to take a PM station out on hikes and camping.. I sure enjoy taking it along on my backpack.. For power, I am using the Icom 705 radio's internal battery which only allows me to TX at 5w power.. If I want the full 10w power, then I would need an external battery and I would probably use a Bioenno 3ah or 6ah battery... Thanks for watching and it sounds like a great summer of radio adventure for your kids. Have Fun.. 73, Kevin ~ k0klb
