This video is about Pedicure Tutorial: How to Remove Toenail Stuck in Dead Embedded Sidewall Skin. Hello friends wherever you are in the world today thanks so much for being here! I have another interesting story for you today about why my client only has 4 toes on her left foot. Your going to hear her story while I work on the right foot and when I get to the left I will explain how to remove a piece of toenail that gets stuck in the dead skin after you cut the free edge of the nail. I have several announcements throughout the video you won’t want to miss So stay tuned
She has been seeing her podiatrist since she had the toe removed but her doctor told her she is free to come back to the salon.
I am starting a new game! Over the weekend one of my wonderful fan friends tagged me in a photo of her watching my channel on her big screen tv on a Friday night with her husband! And I was in awww it brought tears to my eyes, it was the strangest thing actually seeing the video being played in someones home. I mean I know your watching because of the view count but it just really touched me. I messaged her and asked for her address and I am sending her one my favorite tools I use in this video! And I want to give everyone a chance to win a free implement. Every month I am going to draw a winner so don’t give up if you don’t win this month. When you tag me in a photo of you watching a video of mine and write a caption telling your friends to check out the meticulous manicurist nail tutorials channel you will be entered into the drawing! I love the way that no matter who walks through your door, you know how to help them! Thanks to watching your videos, yesterday I was able to do a pedicure for a lady in hospital who had recently had brain surgery and was feeling down. As she’d been ill for some time, her toe nails had become really long and problematic, with a calluses, overgrown cuticles, lots of debris in the side walls and under the free edge. Her family didn’t know where to start, so asked if I could go to the hospital and help. Not only did I now know what to do (thanks to your videos) but it brought a big smile to the face of a very sick lady 😃. So thank you from me, the lady and her family! 💕💕💕. Adele xxx

I love the entire video. I love when you don't have music and I can hear the snipper cutting the nails, the sound if the water in the background, and the low chatter of you and your client. My absolute favorite part is when you put on the cuticle remover and get all that old dead skin. Absolutely satisfying!!!

I found the most interesting part of this video was watching how patiently and slowly you removed the embedded skin at the side of her left great toe. As an old retired ER nurse, I would recommend that the next time you need to remove a splinter or thorn you should use a pair of tweezers as the nippers are so sharp they keep cutting off the end of the thorn. Also, if possible, all splinters and thorns should be removed prior to soaking the feet as the wood gets soft and swells and it makes it very difficult, sometimes impossible, to remove.

My favorite part is when you pick at what seems to be a small piece of skin and as you pick at it, it magically expands as you keep tugging. Reminds me a lot of surgical removal the way you work with care and focus on the stress points of walking everyday when you massage the foot. Thank you for including that small clip in this time.

Being an ex pedicurist, I can only wish I had some of the tools you have now. 20 years ago we did not have the little curette tool to remove the skin from the big toe. So that would be my favorite part. We would have just pulled or cut and they would probably bleed. Hated causing pain. I LOVE how you do this. Thank you for these videos. Even though I do not practice anymore (due to health reasons). I still enjoy watching and having it done.

I love watching all of your videos but this one touched me. My oldest daughter is missing a toe, only having 4 on her right foot. It was caused by a birth defect so she's never known having all of her toes and fingers, this is her normal. But when she was a young lady wanting to get pedicures like all of her friends, it made her so uncomfortable! The ladies would act surprised and ask why, or what happened, etc. We finally started having fun with it, playing like it was there when we started! Lol... Looking forward to ordering some of your supplies so I can maintain my infrequent pedicures at home. Thanks!

Erin Healy Crazy to see how many people only have four toes! I lost one in an accident in 5th grade and was so self-conscious about it up until the last few years. I’m finally telling people and even making a few jokes of it. I obviously knew there were others but it’s soooo nice to actually see it💕

I'm still in school right now to become a nail technician, one of the things the school is hung up on is the time it takes to do a mani or pedi, I like that you take your time to address your clients needs to give them the best pedi so that they leave with great looking feet! No matter how long it took.

Tracy Shawler that's only in school so that you learn to get Your timing down to realistic standards.... you don't want to be doing two or three hour pedicures because most ppl can't sit that long and you won't make any money. I've been in the ind for 7 years and I take anywhere from 45-1 hr for pedis. Eventually you will get efficient all while giving amazing service! Just comes with practice. Good luck 😀

@@HairByAriiianna the girl that does my nails takes about 3.5-4 hours between hands and feet but the results are better than anyone else I've ever had. She does shellac on both. I also tip her 100% because she works incredibly hard. All other salons I've tried were much faster (about an hour for a pedicure) but they never do such a great job, I can tell they're trying to get through it asap and get the seat empty for the next customer. They don't bother cleaning under toenails, they are sloppy with skin removal, the paint jobs are never pristine etc.

INatalkaI ya I mean it goes both ways, some ppl love long services and some ppl find it hard to sit still. I used to take EXTREMELY long on my nail clients I'm a perfectionist but I finally got my services down that I can be very perfect and accurate and also be efficient. They appreciate it

Hi there Lori, Because of your videos I have discovered that the local place I have been going to is causing more problems for me and my toes than I could have ever imagined. The part where you are working on removing the hard skin in the corner of the toe, slowly getting the skin softened and going back to it again and again is the proper way to remove it surprised me. Every time I get my pedicure done they clip some then rip it out, causing me to bleed (very little but still bleed). They have told me, several times that it is the best way to remove the skin because it won't come out any other way! After watching this video I decided to look you up and see if I might be able to make an appointment with you. However, the only time I'd be able to come see you is if we decided to make a trip back home to Kzoo, Michigan. Besides the fact that you have taught me so much about proper care of mine, my husband and my children's feet, I also have been through back surgery for DDD, although mine was lower spine, and have been through much of the same issues that you have. That being said, I want to thank you so much for powering through all you have been through so you can continue to use what you know to teach others in your field the incredibly valuable knowledge you have! I sincerely hope that some day I get the opportunity to meet you. Thanks again for sharing your time and expertise!

+Stephanie Falcon I hope I do get to meet you one day! There are many dangers of going to a place that makes people bleed. Blood born pathogens could be in the tub from previous people they made bleed too :( And if they are not cleaning their tools and tub properly they could be spreading communicable diseases. Just be careful and watch how they clean the tub and tools. They must use an EPA approved germicide, viruscide cleaner. I have walked by walk in salons that are using Fantastic 409 and Windex to clean. Those products will not kill viruses in blood born pathogens :(

I love watching the side ends of the big toe being cleared out. I used to do this for my mom, 50 years ago. Her feet hurt all the time. She wore open toed high heels and paid the price for it. Many a night I would be cleaning her toes of all the gunk that would get in there. Until your videos, I never realized what it was or that it was what could have been hurting her. Unfortunately, I did not have the tools you have today, or the cuticle softeners they have today, but between soaking and warm towels I got a lot of it out. Your videos remind me of my time with my mom, a time that was too short as she died young. But watching you brings back those memories. I thank you for the time you take to make them. I have really been educated to a lot of things on toes I never knew. Not that I can ever do my toe nails by myself anymore, my fibromyligia took care of that as I can't bring my foot up close enough, but I love watching them knowing what I did for my mom was the right thing to do to help her.

I had my first pedicure recently and I really wanted to have a conversation with my nail tech but she really didn't want to talk much. She seemed surprised because most people at that salon tend to be rude to the staff and they don't really make conversation. I wish more clients and people in service professions were as friendly and sweet as you!

Thanks for another great video, Lori! Picking a favorite part of your videos is always difficult, love it all! But I’d have to say that your fearlessness with those tools and your determination to solve all your clients issues...be still my heart! 😉 I have to tell you a quick funny story...doing a pedicure today and my client asked “ not that I mind, but why don’t you wear gloves to do pedicures” and my reply, “ because Lori (my pedicure Yoda) made me feel confident and at ease enough with feet to go for it”. Thank you!!

God bless you! People like you are the true healers of the foot. Doctors throw a pill at people and hope the infection of an ingrown toenail will go away, but unless you do the work to dig out the problem the suffering will continue. Those doing pedicures might also say "oh you have a fungal infection; you should go to a doctor. Thanks for caring enough to do the tough stuff.
