I am impressed with that last silver dialogue of yours. You managed to make it look way more positive and reflective of the character arc silver went through than the games did. And even more so impressive, you managed to do what the crystal legacy fanhack wonkily tried and failed to do with badly worded dialogue, but you did it better, with less dialogue and just expressions and body language. Wonder where you will take Silver from here. We pretty much know the end point of gold, though not the journey. Silver is, at least to me, more of a mystery. Love what you have done with him!

I love how the episode opened with Krys literally pushing her friends forward. This episode highlights the journey and competitve element between Gold and Silver well in a friendly manner. There was a rush of excitement between the two to be the first to complete victory road leading to their best battle to date. I thought it was an interesting comparison how most battles between Blue and Red were close while Gold often has a huge lead and never has to use his whole team to defeat Silver. Although Gold did use more of his team than in previous battles, this is a good way to show Silver is improving. I loved the facial expression at 2:50. Silver: "My new pokemon is incredibly strong!" Gold: "Dude, I have the complete advantage here". Great to see Typhlosion's thunderpunch pay off here stopping a surf before getting out of control. Just reminding us just how important episode 26 was at providing a lot of foreshadowing for the latter half of the series. Excellent pay off here. Is it a rule that only one trainer can pass through to move onto the league or did Silver think he was not ready after losing to Gold?

This battle contrasts well against Red and Blue battle before the leauge. Red had three lengendaries which caused him to change his team composition. Gold did not need to rely on legendaries but will take one as his trump card. Red and Blue's battle was a closer with Blue's Alakazam giving him the edge whearas Gold did not have to use his full effort and Kadabra got smoked.

Kris playfully pushing them in, the race between the boys to get ahead of each other, the mowing down of the weaker trainers, and the climatic battle and the cave's end were all great! I actually like that the battle went how it did, because it shows that Silver has a long way to go to becoming a great trainer. Well done Pedro!

Kris was literally 'sink or swim' at the start. I forgot Feraligatr couldn't learn Waterfall in Gen II. Happily that is resolved in future games. Because the Johto remakes are my fav games and Feraligatr is my fav starter, gets a traversing move and a strong physical water move all in one! Heartwarming to see Silver and Gold having grown some respect and their rivalry is really more of a friendly competition. Also while Gold dominated the fight, Silver's feraligatr kicks keester like no one's business. Next we we move up the elite and just can't wait.
