As an AIK-supporter (the team he played for between the ages 5-16, before being sold to BVB), I can easily say he's the best player I've seen in the club. Andreas Alm (the manager that took him to the first team in 2016 and later got sacked that same season) got a question from a reporter after a pre-season friendly where Isac scored (this was basicly his professional debute, playing in front of the home crowd), along the lines of "Hey, this Isac fellow, he can really become something, right?" and Alm responeded "No, he's already something". At that time, Isac had just turned 16. My best memory is however when he scored those 2 goals in the derby against Djurgården on his 17:th birthday. It's a big game, 30 000 in attendence and a top notch atmosphere.

In the first half Isak did not receive the ball enough, but his movement on the pitch and the runs he did were phenomenal, clearing space for teeamates, good runs for through balls that never arrived. ( i didn't know who he was so i googled quickly the starting line up and found his name-and the transfer history) even though he did not have any real opportunities to get the ball i was amazed by him. and suddenly i believe it was the first time he received the ball near the box and he proceeds scoring this amazing goal humiliating the defense in the process and wining the game for Willem II. Don't overlook the almost psychic link Isak has to our Murphy , they just have such a perfect understanding...it started at our away match at Goodison when Isak jinked the ball along the back line, leaving Everton defenders looking useless , he then crossed the ball to Murphy coming in to to right side of Pickford & boom, it was in. Honestly, the moment Newcastle has a top consistent right winger, Isak will blow up and it will be very clear how much better than Haaland he is. Right now, he has Murphy to his right, and he is very inconsistent. Isak didnt fail at Dortmund. He was put in the freezer at arrival by the "great" Thomas Tuschel. Ironically he turned down an offer from real Madrid to get to a club known for developing talent. Little did he who there was an internal conflict in Dortmund. The club made the signing without consulting Tuschel. Tuschel and Dortmund almost destroyed his career. A player with less mental strenth would never have come back from that.

Funny thing. Martin Ödegaard had a similar story to Isac. He was having a tough time at Real Madrid. It wouldn¨t surprise me if Isac weighed in on that when he decided to go Dormund. I just want us to get a fair chance of competing at the top, and after two windows with no funding due to PSR, we fully deserve to be in the position we're in this season.
