About MY MANE PROBLEM:
A bad hair style can look, feel and be life-ruining. Dr. Boogie (stylist to many celebs) will transform individuals in an amazing way but also dig deeper to fix what's in their head.
Known for developing Eve’s hallmark platinum short cut, creating Kimora Lee Simmons’ sexy glam look and defining Lisa Raye’s signature style, while giving Keyshia Cole something she can feel, Dr. Boogie has styled a host of Hollywood's “Glamour Girl” clients. The long list includes Debbie Allen, Raven-Symoné, Taraji P. Henson, Trina, Fantasia, Christina Milian and many other including Kym Whitley and Vivica A. Fox. His hairstyles have been seen on national advertising campaigns for Tyra Banks, “America’s Next Top Model,” “The Cheetah Girls,” Luster’s Hair Care Products, the bebe fashion line ads and more.

The mindset about our textured hair is passed down like CANCER STICKS!! SMDH. So glad I learned to love my hair at a VERY early age. NOW a senior, still love it and beyond my back side.

It really be ya own people lmaoo. My folks used to make fun of my natural hair sooo so much & fortunately, I've always been a "idgaf how you view me" type kid. But, now.... they've all been natural since it was "trending" & asking me how I grew my hair so long🤭. Loll

It’s not about “texture from another race” it’s about the hate we get mainly in our own community for wearing our natural hair especially if it’s not long enough we’re not looking to be accepted by white people it’s literally like an outfit piece sometimes an Afro isn’t always matching the fit

Exactly! F the money. I’m black and idk why WE are sooo lazy w/ our hair. Flat ironing your hair is not the end of the world. Soo many straight naturals thriving including me if you want that European look...clip ins are the way to go. Even old ladies don’t wear wigs and I hate it’s so normalized now !

Lazy I think would be the wrong word, honestly it's the lack of knowledge of how to maintain. There are more naturals now(no perm, not heat) than when I was a kid and thats beautiful

I say do whatever looks good and feels good on you. I don't care for wigs as much as I do sew ins but I do both here and there. Then in Spring I get a blow out and wear my own. I don't pay any mind to men saying that women all are Baldheaded when they wear fake hair bc it's definitely a myth or they say we are lazy but I could say that men wearing dreads are lazy 🤷🏿‍♀️ so let women do them lol

I watched several full eps of this show. I honestly would NEVER let him touch my hair! All the ep I saw he did not solve or deal with the problems at all. He simply would put a hair relaxer and or some weave on the woman's hair. Never looked into non relaxer styles or finding a look that works with what hair a woman has. I do not think pulling a wig off but then putting in weave is really the answer. And relaxer, str8ners really harm most black women's hair, perms are much better, or as I said try to find a way to improve and grow out damage.

I gave birth to a biracial girl, she's blessed (we've been told) to have her curly, thick hair, mostly by white women (who also have a strange pension for touching her hair, grrrl!) "I'd kill for those curls" she was told, directed @ mum tho, me, as Thera was too young to do her own hair) & then there's the dozens of black women who say "I can braid that" as if Thera's hair needed their validation. Honestly called MOST of them, never was a response! Why? Checked out books @ the library about hair pride & acceptance since Thera was 3+~now, 12! Nmw Thera is told about her hair drying out, she insists on washing it near daily. She swam most summers @ camp & golden, blonde highlights would appear. I was blamed for bleaching it, (told she should suffocate her head) w a swim cap a piece of plastic that no doubt tears the hair off! Thera's "dad" who has seen her 10 times in her life (due to my efforts to forge a relationship) always bragged how her hair looks as his did as a kid (mind u he's bald now) To summarize this all~ damned if we do or don't right? Do what feels best too you, not a magazine or Instagram or Beyonce or some stick thin white model. Idk. I am a white woman of German & Hungarian descent. Blessed that @ 25, I realized I do my makeup hair clothing style all for myself. If I didn't feel comfy in my own skin, style, how can I function my best? Peace ✌️ to all

Im black with really brown i get natural highlights from the sun too its gods natural hightlight. They thought my mom would make me wait contacts and dye my hair too. People are just jealous and ignorant. But washing her hair daily will dry it out.
